They were talking about Kobe like he was JJ for the first 3 quarters.

I hope the Finals opened JJ's eyes a little more. Even the great Kobe Bryant was taken out of his game by playing too much iso ball b/c of lack of ball movement.

Doc was talking about hustle, rebounding, and pushing the ball in every timeout they turned on his microphone (sounded just like Woody doing it too). Granted Doc saw Pierce was ineffective in isos and started trying to use him in pick and rolls....until he tweaked his shoulder and quit shooting. He went to KG alot on iso face ups.

Phil was talking about ball movement repeatedly, the entire game. The Lakers were really struggling to score the ball. Offensive rebounding kept them in the game. Kobe finally bought into the ball movement and trusted his teamates. Luckily his teamates delivered when they got better looks and made enough shots to finally take the lead at the end.

Drew is preaching the right stuff to our Hawks. Its up to our Hawks to listen and this series did nothing for the Hawks but to help Drew get JJ's ear.

don't ever compare Kobe, to Joe again. Kobe has HEART. Joe has ZERO.

As usual.....you missed the entire point.

Not even the great Kobe Bryant can be succesful vs. a good defensive team in a half court playoff game when there is no ball movement or scheme. When he bought into the ball movement, and trusted his teamates, the Lakers got in the game and took the lead.

coachx . . . waaaay too much is made out of the ISO-JJ issue. Honestly, Kobe was doing exactly what JJ has done his entire 5 year career in Atlanta. Draw the double team to him by holding the ball, then passing it to the open man. Kobe was probing looking for his own shot even on possessions in which he passed the ball. When it wasn't there, he passed. The same thing that JJ does.

Some Hawk fans act like JJ neglected everybody else on the floor, and just looked for his own shot all game. JJ could've taken MANY MORE SHOTS if he wanted to. The 1st halves of games, he almost always deferred to his teammates to try to get them involved. If they played well, you'd see JJ post a big assist number. If they didn't, and the team fell behind, what do people expect the star of the team to do? Keep passing the ball to people who weren't scoring? For the most part, you'll rarely see JJ just keep firing away excessively if he's ice cold.

I think that is going to be the wake-up call going into next season, especially if we don't have JJ here. You're really going to see who can be consistent contributors to the offense without JJ setting them up. Hopefully, Teague can step in and be the playmaker if JJ is gone.

Unless Horford and Smoove become better ISO scorers down on the block, Jamal Crawford will be the only guy who can consistently get his own shot. And because of that, you're going to be seeing a lot of ISO-CRAW, if other guys are struggling.

It's hard to keep passing to players, if they're not hitting shots or making plays.

Kobe did other things to win. When his shot is off he goes to the line and crashes the boards. When JJ's shot is off he gets lazier on D and offense and continues to chuck. Hopefully Larry Drew can get to JJ.

JJ would NEVER shoot 15 Ft's in a game and definitely NEVER get 15 rebounds in a game.

Please. 15 trips to the line and 15 boards, only if Phil benches him for avoiding contact ( and it works) . Kobe loves contact; JJ hates it. You are talking about changing a 29 yr old mans whole mentality. Possible for a game here and there but not likely for the rest of his career....
