GameTime
Not to tease, but I have to credit @CSheridanESPN. Heard today Joe Johnson is, in fact, still wavering. Knicks have full-court press on him.— Alan Hahn (@alanhahn) July 4, 2010 The Hawks have made Joe Johnson a maximum-salary contract offer but he remains is free-agent limbo. The Knicks still would like to sign Johnson and have been pursuing him aggressively this weekend. "Heard today Joe Johnson is, in fact, still wavering. Knicks have full-court press on him," writes Alan Hahn of Newsday. Earlier Chris Sheridan reported for ESPN that Johnson was hesitant to accept the Hawks' offer and is interested in seeing where the top free-agents decide to sign. Johnson also has interest in signing with the Bulls. Edited July 4, 2010 by GameTime

buckeye242424
And the speculation continues....Joe is doing what he's being told to do, and probably the right business decision. I don't blame him for standing pat and letting things play out before he signs the dotted line. Has anyone mentioned nobody can officially sign yet...joking. Point being, why tip your hand when there's no need to? Let all the media predators print and write what they want. I think when it's all said and done, Joe re-signs with the Hawks for the offer he was given.
Swiftkick
Joe Johnson doesn't want to be here and hopefully the max contract doesn't stop the Knicks from doing a sign and trade with us I will gladly take Wilson Chandler and Eddy Curry expiring contract .. Then we can really make some moves and dangle the Curry contract to a team strapped for cash .. We can then make solid offers for Paul or Melo
gsuteke
This is annoying now, either make a commitment to US, or leave. it's that simple.. 97% of what you see that is from espn or a major market with cap space is bullsh*t being written to stir up interest. Joe doesn't annoy me. However new threads that "break news" that nothing has changed since yesterday or will change until july 8th are extrememly annoying! Final_quest
However new threads that "break news" that nothing has changed since yesterday or will change until july 8th are extrememly annoying! This is where people are getting it all wrong. A lot can change between now and July 8th. Do you really think that July 8th is going to be full of surprises? Like Christmas? There are new deals being done every day, and July 8th happens to be the day the deals can first be signed. Actually a lot of these deals won't even be signed on that day, it doesn't mean they aren't done. WIth JJ in particular he can go to any number of teams, and until he agrees to terms with us it can change. We could work out a sign and trade with Dallas, NY, Chi, etc. So yes a change is possible, and July 8th is not the day when all of the decisions are made and we find out which free agent choose which team. This happens every year, players and teams make agreements several days before they sign. What people need to get into their heads is that there is nothing magical about July 8th. Everything starts July 1. Edited July 4, 2010 by Final_quest
