Ruckus
Yahoo Sports Link It is unfathomable why we would not pursue Carmelo. He would immediately make us an elite competitor. And now is the time to take advantage of his situation in Denver. Some team is about to get him for hardly anything. Shouldn't we at least poke are heads in?

Marvin, Bibby and Mo for Carmelo satisfies the CBA. Add two #1's and we look very good. As far as outside of the court, Atlanta has two Major TV/Movie studios with two in the making. Of course the music biz is large and the new renaissance of writing and technology is the latest buzz. We may have a chance if we endeavor. IHeartAtlanta
DREAM TRADE 4 US (it works on NBA trade machine) Hawks get: Carmelo Anthony Nuggets get: Jordan Crawford, Marvin Williams, Mike Bibby (wouldn't probably alone do it but throw in picks) :helpsmilie:

However, first Melo does not want to come here, if he did it would only be a season and third other teams can probably offer better packages I think he and Paul are going to go to NY to be with Amare

Atlanta has a lot to offer, certainly not as much as New York and LA but ASG should be able to talk at the meeting. He is an East Coast guy so NY has an advantage. But his wife while born in NY was raised in Atlanta. So ASG can eat at the table too.
Moderators macdaddy Posted August 27, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted August 27, 2010 Still. Nets, Clippers, Warriors, Rockets, Bobcats are more attractive destinations? This kind of crap by players is annoying though. Play out your contract and leave.

spotatl
Denver is in free-fall meltdown mode right now. It is easy to understand wanting and persuing out. Huh? What about denver puts them into "free-fall meltdown mode"? They won the same number of games as the hawks last season and they have an ownership willing to pay the luxury tax. Nene is in his last year, Billips is getting old. Also Martin will be moved because of chemistry (See JRSmith) and the birdman is not the center answer. ownership is shifting with resources to be spread (St.Louis Rams). It may not be free-fail but are sure to change. It sounds like rebuilding is in order.

He wants to be in NY (where his wife is from). They do not want to loose him for nothing like the Cavs did with James. Plus Billups is near done. They do not have young talent like we do. Carmelo leaving them would affect the Nuggs more then if JJ would have left us due Atlanta have a better and younger supporting cast. MaceCase
People, read the article please as its the source of this whole thread. Atlanta does not serve as a destination for neither Carmelo nor the Denver organization.
spotatl
The only thing that puts denver into a tailspin is Carmelo leaving- but the guy said that it was justifiable for Carmelo to leave BECAUSE denver was in a tailspin which makes no sense. I still think that Carmelo will end up resigning with Denver- there is too much money at stake for him if the Nuggets call his bluff.
