Admin
Just a quick Hollinger stats comparison of the PGs that we might be interested in plus what we currently have. RK PLAYER GP MPG TS% AST TO USG ORR DRR REBR PER VA EWA 8 Ramon Sessions, CLE 55 25.8 .559 29.1 10.5 22.3 2.5 10.8 6.5 19.06 171.0 5.7 13 Devin Harris, NJ 54 31.9 .543 31.2 12.0 24.9 0.8 8.3 4.5 18.05 181.5 6.0 16 Raymond Felton, NY 54 38.4 .524 31.6 11.4 22.5 2.2 8.4 5.3 17.34 196.3 6.5 43 Aaron Brooks, HOU 32 23.8 .474 21.1 9.1 25.2 1.5 5.0 3.2 12.32 15.0 0.5 45 Mike Bibby, ATL 55 30.1 .574 27.8 9.2 14.7 1.1 9.0 5.1 11.96 23.6 0.8 [/code] Players on pace to play 500 or more minutes *To qualify: a player must have played 6.09 MPG. TS%: True Shooting Percentage - what a player's shooting percentage would be if we accounted for free throws and 3-pointers. True Shooting Percentage = (Total points x 50) divided by [(FGA + (FTA x 0.44)] AST: Assist Ratio - the percentage of a player's possessions that ends in an assist. Assist Ratio = (Assists x 100) divided by [(FGA + (FTA x 0.44) + Assists + Turnovers] TO: Turnover Ratio - the percentage of a player's possessions that end in a turnover. Turnover Ratio = (Turnover x 100) divided by [(FGA + (FTA x 0.44) + Assists + Turnovers] USG: Usage Rate - the number of possessions a player uses per 40 minutes. Usage Rate = {[FGA + (FT Att. x 0.44) + (Ast x 0.33) + TO] x 40 x League Pace} divided by (Minutes x Team Pace) ORR: Offensive rebound rate DRR: Defensive rebound rate REBR: Rebound Rate - the percentage of missed shots that a player rebounds. Rebound Rate = (100 x (Rebounds x Team Minutes)) divided by [Player Minutes x (Team Rebounds + Opponent Rebounds)] PER: Player Efficiency Rating is the overall rating of a player's per-minute statistical production. The league average is 15.00 every season. VA: Value Added - the estimated number of points a player adds to a team's season total above what a 'replacement player' (for instance, the 12th man on the roster) would produce. Value Added = ([Minutes * (PER - PRL)] / 67). PRL (Position Replacement Level) = 11.5 for power forwards, 11.0 for point guards, 10.6 for centers, 10.5 for shooting guards and small forwards EWA: Estimated Wins Added - Value Added divided by 30, giving the estimated number of wins a player adds to a team's season total above what a 'replacement player' would produce. Player Efficiency Rating (PER) League average: 15.0It's startling looking at the value added and estimated wins added of these other PG's as compared to what Bibby gives us. Admin capstone21 Posted February 22, 2011 Admin Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 Man I would love for us to get Harris. That would be amazing. Felton would be a great get too. Sessions would be like a consolation prize. Brooks to me is really just another scorer.
tbhawksfan
Funny, looks like Bibby is very efficient and very unproductive. If they did a defensive evaluation he would be last as well. Seen stats that say Sessions is bad on D too. Felton / Harris / Sessions is my order of pref. Though I think Harris is tougher and more athletic than Felton. MrNique
I'm starting to lean Felton / Harris / Sessions as well in that order. And then yeah, Brooks. He could be good as well, but not as attractive distributer as the others. He did game against the Lakers in that playoff series and steps up for big games, so that's nice. And in regards to the Sessions is bad at D stats, I just keep wondering how bad Bibby's metrics would be without 3 of our best defenders on the frontline (Marvin, Josh, Al). Moderators AHF Posted February 22, 2011 Moderators Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 And in regards to the Sessions is bad at D stats, I just keep wondering how bad Bibby's metrics would be if was asked to guard his man without the team contorting the defensive assignments to cover for him.
