Admin
To make the 3-1 Wallace deal and the 2-1 Nazr deal, CHAR has to waive 3 incumbent players. Sherron Collins, Dominic McGuire, Derrick Brown? Anyone else on their roster that they might cut that could help us?
Premium Member sturt Posted February 24, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) Browsing Rotoworld notes... === Said of Derrick Brown following being #40 in the 2009 draft: "Brown is extremely athletic and can play either forward position, presumably backing up Gerald Wallace and/or Boris Diaw. As a bonus, he's also capable of knocking down shots from the perimeter, shooting 43.3% from downtown in his final season at Xavier." === Bobcats coach Larry Brown raved Monday about defensive-minded forward Dominic McGuire: "Dominic McGuire is going to surprise a lot of people," Brown said. "I know nobody knows about him, he hasn't played, but he's going to be a big part of our team." McGuire is the exact kind of player Brown loves, so this shouldn't come as a surprise. He'll get decent burn off the bench as a glue guy and defensive stopper. [And, earlier... ] The Kings did not give Dominic McGuire a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. McGuire was shut down last season because of torn plantar fascia. That shouldn't be a problem in 2010-11 but he needs to show that he can contribute consistently. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on him as he can pile up assists, steals and blocks -- when he gets the minutes. === Fwiw, I for one am satisfied with either option assuming nothing else opens up... McGuire is more experienced and sounds like a genuine defensive stopper, but Brown it seems potentially could develop into a keeper. Premium Member hawkman Posted February 24, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 I'd take Brown out of that group. He has potential and will be cheap.
GameTime
I'm a fan of Dominic McGuire. Tough defender, good passer, fantastic rebounder for his height. Cap Kirk is gonna stress D so I think he would be good to add. Edited February 24, 2011 by GameTime

Premium Member sturt Posted February 24, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 Need to cut someone and eat a salary in that case, imo, because there's a glaring need to get a back-up for Marvin.
