Any truth to the rumor that the Police officer was a Hawksquawk member?

Knowing a bit about that intersection, it's one that almost always has a traffic cop there when there are big events with traffic coming in/letting out, because (probably from past history, I'll guess involving a Chamber of Commerce member) it is a hot mess without policing, for pedestrians and drivers alike.

Park Avenue West/Foundry Street leads into the garage underneath GWCC & Philips. But really, if J-Pow needs to get into the garage when it's a zoo on Marietta, he probably would have been better off going up an extra block toward the Aquarium and make the short loop onto Park Avenue West (ironically, allowing the cop to stop traffic and let him cross) rather than trying to "bogard" a left against peak-period event travel on Marietta. Even without an ambulance/fire engine approaching, doing that might have saved him some time and stress.

It's the second time in a week and a half that I've seen/heard of a driver trying to ignore a traffic cop on that same road. People think they look cool flipping off the fuzz when they really don't. A stopped driver who couldn't (and didn't care to) understand why the cop was stopping traffic on both sides in the middle of the street started to plow forward when the cop turned his head and nearly smashed into some runners (the pedestrians the cop was trying to hold traffic for). Dude probably had a real important poker game to get to...
