I don't wanna continue, I think you hit the nail by saying it's "not pretty". I read the Squawk' everyday, and in my five years plus, I've never had such a negative vibe from the die-hards as I do now. Nothing against your post AHF, you're dead on and the proof is in the pudding. Although, sitting here 40-31 and we're down the toilet is depressing. Everyone has valid points. Coaching, heart, our fan base at home games...it's all true and it saddens me. I'm going to continue to support the Hawks, because I always have...but last night really slapped me in face. Not that I didn't see it coming, but that was the icing for me. I'll be pulling for us vs. Philly tonight, but if we win, I'm not going to blinded from the big picture. The stars are not aligned for us, and there's not one glaring problem. We have a bunch,of problems, and, simply, it sucks.
DJlaysitup
BUT! how many NBA teams have come back from 19 points down to the Bulls this year and beat them? Just one! You Atlanta Hawks! - I always get optimistic right before gametime
Moderators AHF Posted March 23, 2011 Author Moderators Report Share Posted March 23, 2011 Good news! 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers - 13-56 13 games lost by 20+ 23% of losses and a higher % once you move out 1 decimal point. Take that Cleveland Cavs! Bad news. 2005-06 Hawks 26-56 10+ losses:22 games (39% of losses) 15+ losses:13 games (23% of losses) 20+ losses: 5 games (9% of losses) 2010-11 Atlanta Hawks 40-31 10+ losses: 17 games (55% of losses) 15+ losses: 12 games (39% of losses) 20+ losses: 7 games (23% of losses) That is not a flattering comparison. Now I am depressing myself.

Moderators AHF Posted March 24, 2011 Author Moderators Report Share Posted March 24, 2011 What the hell is San Antonio doing in that list? Probably small sample size. If they lose a game by 1, they would
Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted March 24, 2011 Moderators Report Share Posted March 24, 2011 What the hell is San Antonio doing in that list? My guess is Coach Pop brings out the hook for his Big 3 early in the 4th if it's not looking good after 3 quarters, as they can certainly live to fight another day, with comfortable leads in the division and conference after starting out 25-2. But I don't watch them outside of national TV/NBATV so I don't really know. Only lost by 3 yesterday, for just their 14th loss, so that margin will dwindle a little. ~lw3
Premium Member Diesel Posted March 24, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 24, 2011 I think those stats speak to the fact that we give up in losses. What the hell is San Antonio doing in that list? When you only have 13 losses, any loss over 14 affects the average greatly.
MaceCase
We are a 40 win team with a negative point differential between points scored and allowed....I am beyond baffled by this season. At this point I'd even take a surprise run to the finals as fool's gold and blow this thing up in the summer.
Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted March 24, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 24, 2011 We are way worse than our record. If JJ didn't have that fluke month in January where he carried us we would be a sub .500 team, which is really what our level of play this season would merit. The coaching hire was a horrible decision, not moving Crawford who will walk next season (and is playing like total crap this year) was a mistake also. I'm not really even watching the games anymore, because frankly there isn't a team in the NBA that is harder to root for right now, we play with such a transparently bad attitude it is pretty sickening. We should blow this team up completley and head back to the lottery and try our luck at the franchise player roulette, because this little experiment started by BK has officially run its course and it was a total failure. Moderators AHF Posted March 25, 2011 Author Moderators Report Share Posted March 25, 2011 Atlanta has been blown out at home more often than any team with a winning record in NBA history. The Hawks have suffered five home losses by 20 or more points, including three by more than 30 points. Each ranks as the top total in NBA history for teams with winning records, according to STATS, LLC. This somehow isn't surprising. http://www.nba.com/2011/news/03/24/hawks-struggles.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2
