Premium Member BrazilianHawk Posted October 1, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted October 1, 2011 Just to make sure you guys know what's going on during the lockout... GO DREAM! Erika is going to play the final match in the Fiba Americas Championship (Brazil vs. Argentina) Saturday night, so I believe she'll be ready to join the Dream game 2. Gray Mule
Who has the best opportunity to bring a championship to Atlanta? Braves: Faded out of the playoffs. In fact, looked pitiful in September. Falcons: Expecting great things from them this season. Currently 1-2. Hawks: Don't even know if they are going to play this year. Hockey team has left town. That leaves the WNBA. Dream have won the East for the second time. They are facing the Western division winners for everything. Best of five. GO DREAM!! Premium Member BrazilianHawk Posted October 2, 2011 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted October 2, 2011 Brazil has just won the final match and is qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Erika was chosen the MVP of the Championship, and is now free to play for the Dream. Congrats Erika! Now go chase some cats... ehm, I mean, Lynx! GO DREAM! Premium Member BrazilianHawk Posted October 3, 2011 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted October 3, 2011 Too bad the girls had a 4th quarter meltdown :( I surely hope they'll fare better with Erika on the court. Izi reminds me of Jamal, for the good and for the bad. And Armintie Price, with her disappearing act, was the closest thing to Marvin in our women's squad. sancho looked really bad tonight, I hope she can rebound game 2. I like Alison "Pachulia" Bales out there. Angel had a hell of a game, but was let down by her team mates. GO DREAM!
Gray Mule
Sancho didn't. Armenti couldn't. Izzie ran out of steam and Erica wasn't even there. Indiana won game one. Dream overcame that. Minnesota won game one. They didn't miss a lot of shots in the 4th. Everything seemed to go in for them. No team shoots THAT good - but they did. GO DREAM!! ATLNY7
They were leading at halftime in both games and still found ways to lose. They need to stop playing scared. They don't know how to end games off. McCoughtry can't do everything for the team, and you can't be giving up 101 points and expecting to win. frankthetank966
We're down 2-0, doubtful. What's the deal with the finals only being a 5-game series?
Gray Mule
Minnesota exploded in the 4th quarter - - Again. Dream led thru three in game two and I believe the did in game one. Can't believe how easy & often they scored against the Dream and how easily they shut down the Dream offense. Atlanta again had trouble hitting those free throws. Enough trouble that it ultimately cost them the game. Hit all their free throws and they win. Simple as that. Too many Dream players in foul trouble. Some of those calls against both teeams were questionable at best. Then, there was the house full of fans. Those critics who say no one watches the WNBA should know, last night the seats were full of those nobodies. Hope the Dream can entice a few fans to come out and watch them as the games switch to Atlanta. I haven't given up yet. But, winning three in a row against this team after losing the first two will be extremely hard. Not impossible, but hard. GO DREAM!!!
Premium Member BrazilianHawk Posted October 7, 2011 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted October 7, 2011 The Dream have shown they can win in Minny IF they would play the 4th like they played the other three quarters. Then again, they haven't made it, so I believe the chances are slim at best, but hey, guess what, it's not impossible! I've already seen stranger things happen... SO GO DREAM! Premium Member BrazilianHawk Posted October 8, 2011 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted October 8, 2011 (edited) These girls and the Hawks have so much in common... relying on jumpers when it's obvious they need to go inside... players who just won't show up when the team needs them the most... conceding easy layups on defense... not to mention all the blown leads. C'mon girls! 7 down to start the 4th. GO DREAM! Exciting game, down 1 with 1:15 left. GO DREAM! Edited October 8, 2011 by BrazilianHawk
Deeman
Seriously is a team from Atlanta EVER gonna win a championship. This is ridiculous.

Gray Mule
Something is wrong when the 4th quarter comes and the opponent explodes. This happened three games in a row. The Minnesota gals scored and the Atlanta gals didn't. Dream gave them a real finish late but it was just, "Too little, too late." Atlanta won the east last summer. They did it again this summer. Both times, they were swept, 3-0, in the finals. This ends the WNBA season and looks like the NBA will be out for a while. Now, all we have to look foreward to is Green Bay coming to face the Falcons. Remember what happened in last season's playoffs. Another chance at that elusive championship for Atlanta down the drain. Premium Member BrazilianHawk Posted October 8, 2011 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted October 8, 2011 Actually GM, this time the wheels fell off during the 3rd quarter, but you're absolutely right. Something's wrong with those girls.
TheNorthCydeRises
The Dream simply lost to the better team. That Minnesota squad is stacked. - Seimone Augustus is a future Women's Basketball Hall of Famer, and is the best mid-range shooter in basketball ( male or female ) . . I've long believed that. - Maya Moore is a future Women's Basketball Hall of Famer who may be the best long range shooter amongst women's players. Right now, she's essentially a young Ray Allen. - Lindsey Whalen is a borderline Women's Basketball Hall of Famer due to what she did in college and because she's #4 all time in the WNBA in assists And the other women ( McWilliams-Franklin, Brunson, and Wiggins ) aren't slouches either. That team was stacked folks. No way could Angel beat them by herself. It would've had to take a total team effort, especially on the defensive end and on the boards. They simply had too many people who could score the basketball. And when Seimone gets rolling, there's not a female on the planet who is going to stop her.
