Admin capstone21 Posted April 8, 2012 Admin Report Share Posted April 8, 2012 He has been playing really well since coming back from injury and coming off the bench
arhawkfan
I like Marvin coming off the bench. He plays well because he is a scorer off the bench not just a supporting player.
Guest
He does. He is more agressive off the bench. I like it.
hawkrule152
As he was with UNC.. his role is strictly 6th man.. and thats what his career should be
Supporter
People say that all Marvin does during the offseason is eat cheerios and watch spongebob. Well, if I remember correctly the duck never shot threes in his beginning years but look at him now!!!
Premium Member Diesel Posted April 8, 2012 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 8, 2012 "Marvin's very comfortable (in the sixth-man role) and he's very good at it. I had talked to him about it. We did a little bit of it last year and had some success with it. We made the decision to go back to it this year. We've seen Marvin's production go up, particularly coming off the bench. One thing is he gets more shots." -- coach Larry Drew on Marvin Williams and his new role coming off the bench.
tonegully
Marvin is deadly with his stroke. 3 pointers or mid range, now if he could just get to the rim and finish without falling down we will have ourselves a killer 6 man
Wurider05
I think that his defense has been impressive as well.
gsuteke
Marvin Williams sucks and I for one will be happy to see his contract come off the cap after next season.

frankthetank966
Marvin should always been a sixth man. He excelled at that role in college, why would you take someone away from something they are comfortable with?
Alex
A number 2 overall pick...can't wait until he is gone.
Dejay
Well, as Mom used to tell me, if you don't have anything nice to say, keep your mouth shut. So as for the thought that our former #2 overall pick is playing better off the bench than being a franchise-changing player as the ones picked after him, well, I'll just leave that alone... Premium Member Sothron Posted April 8, 2012 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 8, 2012 Count me in with the others that will be glad to see him gone. You don't draft someone #2 to be a bench player.

EazyRoc
I look at his production in relation to how much we are paying him instead of where we drafted him. We've beat that subject to death already..

MaceCase
That is a truly twisted sense of what third option money is. Look through the entire league and list out how many non rookie contract third options are making just above the MLE.

Marvin is coming off the bench because of Joe Johnson being tired of guarding 2's not because Heinrich is a better starter. Make no mistake about it, Marvin is a much better player than Kirk Heinrich!
