gurpilo
Maxiel would be a nice cheap pickup. Tough dude Good addition but for vet min, Ivan Johnson provides similar impact If we are not able to sign Big FA, Jack, Iguodala, Rush and Pekovic could be good fits. Kimsey
According to NBA.com, the Mavericks and Hawks have impending restricted free agent C Tiago Splitter on their "short lists."In his third NBA season, Splitter showed rapid improvement en route to career-highs in points (10.3), rebounds (6.4) and assists (1.6). He'll never be a cornerstone of a team, but size sells in the NBA. Remember that DeAndre Jordan got a four-year, $43M offer sheet from the Warriors as a restricted free agent in 2011, and JaVale McGee signed a four-year, $44M deal last summer. The Spurs may have to deal with an offer sheet once their playoff run is over and the free-agency window opens. The Hawks didn't even make restricted free agent Jeff Teague an extension offer before last October's deadline. The Hawks could be regretting not locking up Teague earlier. Now he's a restricted free agent and coming off his best season as a pro. Teague set career-highs in points (14.6), assists (7.2) and 3-pointers per game (1.1). He'll likely be asking for something just less than fellow point guards Ty Lawson (4 years, $48M) and Jrue Holiday (4 years, $41M) got last fall. The Hawks could also just make Teague a qualifying offer and then decide to match or decline any offer sheets that come in. 10 mill per is way too high for JT imo. Something along the lines of Marvins contract. Edited May 10, 2013 by Kimsey
coachx
Good addition but for vet min, Ivan Johnson provides similar impact If we are not able to sign Big FA, Jack, Iguodala, Rush and Pekovic could be good fits.I would consider Pekovic a Big FA. Probably the #3 or #4 free agent on the board. Jefferson, Pekovic, Splitter, or Hickson would be my Plan B post players..

Admin
lw3, that is just a strange grouping, I think I would have advised ~60% of those becoming free agents to stay on their current deal and probably advised more of those declining to be free agents to become one. It's a strange thing that those free agents didn't request advice from you..
Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted June 30, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted June 30, 2013 I'm in agreement with you fanatic... quite a few of the option decisions were head-scratching. I'll do the Team Options later. The "unguaranteed contract" news is flooding up my Twitter feed. ~lw3
