Devin Harris actually fits the personnel grouping.

The two things he excels at are the two things Horford is elite at. transition and PnR's. We haven't really had that in Atlanta since well anyway that's our first perfect fit. Smith excels in transition though I am not sure this is a great fit for him since he will spend a lot of time at SF this year. But at least we have a perfect fit. We will most definitely be better than last year in the regular season.

If we have to make a move I would rather we move teague and keep Harris. I always like Harris and thought he was an underrated point guard

Nope... What others have found is that Harris Defense makes Bibby look like Gary Payton. Teague doesn't share the lack of defense or the Injuries that Harris does. For that reason, I think the competition at PG should be afoot.

Harris defense isn't good especially v. Big pgs but its blamsemy to compare it to mike bibby especially bibs in atlanta.

i agree with you "joker" and im sure you will get BIG props on this post opposing to others...LOL....but seriously you are right harris seems like a better fit plus he has averaged around 7 assist in the last 3 years! this guy is a good pgonly thing about harris is that i dont think he's as quick as some of these younger point guards like Teague but neither is tony parker...its not always about speed. harris has game and i say we keep him!

We finally get to see Karl Malone in a Hawks jersey now that we have a PnR PG.

This could be very possible.

Hard to believe that Devin Harris was considered an elite defender in Dallas. What happened? Dunno about the Bibby comment though. Edited by GameTime

Isn't harris currently the world's quickness full court player by guinness?

He is still a decent defender from all the numbers I was reading earier. Even utah jazz 360 had positive things to say about him. His biggest struggle is pnr defense but many said jefferson wasn't much of help while both smith and horf are some of the best in the nba at it.

Harris is still extremely fast and quick. His issue is utah offense takes the ball out of his hands which hurts is scoring. Since he's a scoring pg, utah does more harm than good. Utah offense is built for guys who are movement based and play smart on the perimeter as well as low post dominate. Its somewhat like memphis but memphis is superior defensively.

I rarely watched utah play as well. I knew how they played but they had nothing that make me care. I didn't like devin from his jersey days so I really wasn't thinking about his skill-set when we got him. Just dwight and a trade.

Teague averaged 5 this year in his first year with minutes while having a ball stopping SG and a PF that refused to give him the ball on the break, while supposedly not having any PG skills. looks pretty good to me

Jeff played in the top 10 mpg for all players and only had 5 apg. Was horrible at almost every pg category and what not. He is a talented player but he's a 6th man specialist at this level.
