Cwell
IT is no one's fault but Jeff he averaged 5 assists. He's just not that great of a passer. Stop making excuses for him thats my point. 5 is still pretty good for his circumstances. when was the last time the PG led this team in assists? Teague isn't the greatest passer but what makes you think he can't improve that is what im saying. its not like we've seen enough of him to judge how his career is gonna go. He did fine this year and will only get better. I garuntee he would have averaged around 6-7 if Josh didn't refuse to give it up on the break, the easiest of assists. He rarely runs off picks and when its late in the 4th he doesn't touch it, ISO Joe time. Edited July 4, 2012 by Cwell
MrMeltdown
Devin Harris is no better a fit than Teague and should and will not start over Teague. Machado would have been a bust of a 1st rd pick and never will be anything more than a backup PG. Kendall Marshall will also bust. Activity does not equal achievement. You can not post about a guy enough to make him what you want him to be and none of Ferry's moves have achieved what the team needs on the court. Stop making excuses for him Smoove gets no blame for the 10 or so possessions a game that he refused to let Teague touch the ball? Give him 10 more possessions and he gets 2+ more assists

Give him 10 more possessions and he gets 2+ more assists This argument is weak and overblown. 10 possessions ? So are you implying every rebound or steal he got he tried to lead the break ? Listen guys, Jeff Teague has never been a great passer. That's nobodys fault but his own. Not Joshs fault not Joes fault. Teague is who he is. A guard that can get in the paint anf a fairly average passer at the PG position.

MrNique
Although I think Teague still will start, as presently constructed I would expect both guys to be on the court a lot, if not most of the game together. All the other SG we have are basically shooting specialists. Harris and Teague are both basically combo guards and the two PG lineup is common these days. (Still really curious who will be our SF.) BusBoyIsBack
People have the wrong idea. As currently constructed it's not Teague vs Harris. It's Teague or Harris vs PargoAnd no offense to Pargo but advantage Teague and Harris clearly. Harris adds amazing depth to this team. And if we traded Teague in a package for DH12, then it's still a win win because we get DH12
Joker
Pargo is terrible. Jeff isn't a PG. He's a combo guard who can become Bobby Jackson like. Devin is a scoring point guard who just had a bad season in a terrible system for himself.
Plainview1981
Nope... What others have found is that Harris Defense makes Bibby look like Gary Payton. Teague doesn't share the lack of defense or the Injuries that Harris does. For that reason, I think the competition at PG should be afoot. I'm pretty sure that you were high on Devin Harris before... Premium Member Vol4ever Posted July 4, 2012 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 4, 2012 Devin Haris is a very good PG. I remember when he was with Dallas and NJ everyone said he was top 3. Devin will play very well with this team IMO is he stays. IMO Devin will be the PG because Teague will not be in a Hawks uniform much longer..... He used love Harris a lot. That was his favorite player. Harris and Kaman.

This is the same player that Diesel was talking about like he was the best PG in the NBA outside of Deron and CP3 back then.
TheNorthCydeRises
Hard to believe that Devin Harris was considered an elite defender in Dallas. What happened? Dunno about the Bibby comment though. Tyronn Lue was once an "Iverson Stopper" too while with the Lakers back in 2001. That is, until this moment http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=grXws5m11SA

MrMeltdown
Devin Harris is not better than Jeff Teague right now. He had much better bigs on his team last year and could not come up with any better assist numbers than Teague
