Breakdown of the Dwight trade

Shocking to me that Orlando would give in to Dwight's demands. As well as Gilbert allowing another super team since he cried when Lebron left to form one in Miami. I guess you can never believe what people say or what they do for that matter. Time for the Hawks to move on. Hopefully it won't take forever to be taken as a serious threat in the NBA.

Gilbert benefits in three ways from this.

1) Gets a pick

2) Creates a team that will challenge Lebron from getting "not 2, not 3, not 4...."

3) Big market and lux tax revenues from these super teams will practically subsidize his franchise on it's own without much need for him to dig in his own pockets Posted Image

Well if we did trade Dwight, he wouldnt stay with us, unless a miralce happen but he said that he wants to go to Brooklyn then let him go there.

He couldn't land Brooks either. Instead we get Houston's shitty lotto protected first rounder. This dude is a lousy just like he was in Cleveland. A F---- up just like we had before. Edited by Hotlanta1981

I see your point but we wouldn't be the hypocrite like Gilbert is being here. For goodness sake the main reason the lockout lasted so long was small market owners DEMANDING the ability to stop what Miami did from happening again and the FIRST offseason after the lockout another team does just that. And it is only by one of the loudest voices to STOP doing that by agreeing to do it. Insane.

Very much in agreement with you. The NBA should just restructure itself to where there are only 8 teams and the rest are minor-league affiliates. Why pretend? For Gilbert, it is likely that someone is going to benefit from this team and his team isn't building to challenge in the next couple years so grab 3 assets ($3M, first rounder, Humphries on a non-guaranteed deal after year 1) and let someone go at Miami before JJ and Wallace become massive liabilities in 3 years. And while the owners put up a stink about this type of movement in the last negotiations, they put in next to nothing to stop it. The expectation was that this would continue to become standard practice for today's super friend wannabe NBA stars.

Okay, you have to remember he started this job two week ago, so give this man some space. He has a plan, so let him work his voodoo besides he might have something else up right now. EDIT: Besides, the culture and enviroment of this team needs to change before we start bring in these All-Star and Superstars. Edited by NekiEcko

Danny Ferry is the Barack Obama of the the NBA. He got used and abused just like Pete Babcock and the bums we had before. It's no different. What do we have left? A malcontent tweener, a role player PF, a 6th man and some crappy draft picks and a GM who thinks making 8th seed will lead to a bigger pay off in FA. Which he will be totally wrong on. Okay then who would you got a GM then? You got to have patience with this. Atleast he did something that nobody else could have done and still processed two greatest trade pieces right now. You have to respect him too, believe me doing this job sucks (learn to work in NBA front office one day, hopefully work for the Sonics when they return to Seattle one day)

Atleast the primadonna Howard will be out of the headlines soon..

Please, they're going to be on TV and every sports website as much as the Heat are and they'll probably force feed their TV station into our regular lineup the way that WGN did with the Cubs and TBS did with the Braves nationally. It's going to be all Heat and Nets all the time!!!

They still have to play the games. Remember when everyone was crying about the Knicks big 3. Dwight has back problems. Joe is getting on in years. Deron couldn't carry any team to the playoffs. Overstatements for sure but a lot can happen between now and next April. Hell Dwight cried about his touches when there were no other stars on his team. Just think how he'll feel about iso joe.

That bald headed f--- Ferry thinks he will remain competitive with Horford, Smith, Harris and build through FA. The fact that even Howard wouldn't sign here proves him wrong. So he is already failing. You can't build a great team here through FA's. You will end up overpaying 2nd rate s-heads like James Harden and Stephen Curry by giving them top dollars. How do these people get jobs? You can't build a team through FA when no superstars want to sign there. This just doesn't go for here. Obviously it goes for franchises like Toronto also. It's simple, in LA and Boston you have tradition to fall back on... With NJ and New York you have rich owners that have the money and the funds to basically ignore the rules/cap. When you don't have those things, you have to build through the draft and make commitments to your players. That's how you have to build a team. That's how you build a good rep when you have franchises like Toronto, Mil and Atlanta. Ferry is obviously too stupid to understand this. He better accept that he will have to build this team through the draft or he will fail.

Mann Dwight really forced Orlando's hand with this trade. You know that the gm down there doesn't like what he's getting in return but with Dwight holding out to go to Brooklyn, I guess it's about as good as he could do. I kinda feel bad for them. I now have a new team to dislike and root against. Howard the prima donna, Joe the underachieving and emotionless and Deron I'm more important than Jerry Sloan Williams. Yep. Don't like 'em at all.

No offense, but the Magic front office have no clue what they are doing. Lopez? The dude can't rebound/defend if his life depended on it. And then you get 3 first round picks and some D-League scrubs. Orlando for dumbest front office of the year.

Dang dude. Chill out. All we did was give up Joe. Big deal. It's been like a week.
