Guest
HOOPSWORLD has learned that there have been preliminary discussions between the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets that would involve sending Andrew Bynum to the Rockets, Howard to the Lakers and a number of first-round picks, prospects and significant cap relief to the Magic. The Magic are not necessarily in love with the idea of giving either Bynum or Brook Lopez a sizable, long-term commitment as they go through a major roster overhaul. Draft picks and prospects, a la the Denver Nuggets’ return on Carmelo Anthony, is said to be more appealing to Orlando. The Rockets have no assurance from Howard that he’d re-sign there and while they might be willing to take that risk, Bynum has privately expressed a willingness to be in Houston long-term . Houston has a tremendous haul of young, cheap players to offer as well as multiple draft picks. They also have a passing interest in Ramon Sessions, as the Lakers do in Courtney Lee http://www.hoopsworld.com/can-lakers-rockets-magic-make-a-deal
Admin
Way to be a buzz killer! Man that really sucks, the Rockets need Horford much more than Bynum.

WraithSentinel
I saw someone suggest this trade over at Realgm. I thought they were making it up. The only hope here is that it is Hoopsworld reporting it. I can't remember the last time they were right about anything.

phoostal
Mark Stein just came on ESPN and reported the same above trade between Rockets, Lakers, and Magic. Take for what it is worth. Usually Stein is pretty solid.
Premium Member Sothron Posted July 11, 2012 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 11, 2012 I'm worried about this trade. We need to get Dwight with Horford before Orlando goes with this.
phoostal
According to the Orlando Sentinel they breakdown possible trades for Dwight as follows:Trade:For Best Player? Trade with LakersFor Best Package of Players? Trade with the HawksFor Blow it and rebuild? Trade with the RocketsFor the worst deal ever? Trade with the NetsAt this time the locals here in Orlando have no idea what the Magic are going to do.

ggp
I have heard rumors about special deals that have been struck with DH's reps. Apparently, his contract with Adidas triples, if he signs with Brooklyn. Why not get some ATL movers and shakers and put together some attractive offers on the table? How about a nice deal with Coke? Howard is a good-looking guy with a great career staring him in the face. You know Coke can put him to good use. What about Home Depot or Kia? Here is out-of-the-box thought. What about Tyler Perry sitting down with Howard and mapping out a second career in front of a camera?Let's not kid ourselves here. Howard is looking at the money. Once we come to understand that, we can compete with Brooklyn and beat them at their own game.
MrMeltdown
I have been saying all along we should jump in if he ends up going to the Lakers and try to get Bynum by sending the Lakers Josh as well.
ATL_BALLER
If I'm the Magic, I'd blow it up and rebuild, and this scenario satisfies all the criteria. Someone like Al has the most value for emerging squad - Orlando, if I had to guess, are starting from scratch.
Premium Member Peoriabird Posted July 11, 2012 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 11, 2012 Give it up guys...Howard isn't coming here! Time to sign guys like Ilyasova and Chris Kaman. Would love to have Batum though

phoostal
Well Batum signed an offer sheet with the TWolves (which Blazers will match) and Ilyasova resigned with the Bucks. So cross those two off the list.
