ggp
Magic likely have Horford,Teague,Zaza(make salary work) and draft picks on the table for Howard & JRich. That is the best deal out there for them. Take the f'ing deal already and quit dragging this crap out waiting for that impossible deal to fall into their lap. They will keep dragging their feet on this as long as Dwight continue to get blasted in the media. So yes he is becoming the Magic escape goat while the Magic can't make up their f'ing minds. Do we have any credible source that can verify your claim? Have the Hawks truly offered Horford, Teague, Pachulia and draft picks? Holy crap! That deal beats all others by a mile! BossAus
If the Magic want us to take J-Rich off of their hands we have to offer Zaza as well as Horford. I'm just guessing, but I'd assume the draft picks are the two this coming year. If Houston doesn't get Howard, they're going to suck, and their pick is lottery protected so we won't get anything out of it the next few years likely. It might come down to if the Magic want Teague or not. But that's just me speculating.

WraithSentinel
There is no official rumor out there that we are offering Horford,Teague,Zaza and picks for Howard and JRich. If its straight up for Howard then Zaza is likely not involved. If the Magic are trying to dump JRich as reports have it along with Howard. Then we would likely have to include Zaza in the deal to make it work. There is no one else on the roster to make this work. I doubt we can trade the new guys Hawks just got right away unless it is a player for player type of deal. Got to wait something like 3 months I think. Plainview1981
It's amazing how greedy these guys have become. It's crazy that Howard can't be swayed by playing with all his friends, playing at home, a max contract, a chance to build a dynasty and still win. I'm sure he would get plenty of endorsements here. If he doesn't sign on for this, I never want him to play here. Never.
Moderators AHF Posted July 11, 2012 Moderators Report Share Posted July 11, 2012 Worse, Brook also gets to decide if he even wants to accept a trade for a whole year after the match. This is why I would do exactly that if I were Lopez and I wanted to stay in Brooklyn.

You'd want to be the guy locked into a long term deal in a city as brutal as Brooklyn and be known as the guy who went out of his way to ensure that the team couldn't land the best center in the league? Better hire a good crew of bodyguards to escort you around town!

Better hire a good crew of bodyguards to escort you around town! I don't know what you are talking about. I signed that deal in Portland and the Nets happened to match it. How can I be blamed if things go poorly and how much can I soak it up if things go well? (But, yes, I'd rather be that guy making the playoffs with hopes for doing better than stuck in Charlotte or Orlando at this point.)

If he doesn't sign on for this, I never want him to play here. Never. Hard to know what his motives actually are. The rumor someone posted about Howard not wanting to play at home for family and personal reasons makes sense. If it's true or not, it doesn't change that he may have underlying reasons for not wanting to play here. He's gonna get paid anywhere he goes. I personally would love to see a story line of him coming home, reconciling with his family and his faith, and winning a title or two playing with his former childhood teammates. That would really be something. We'll see what happens.

DrReality
From what it sounded, it seemed like all the Rockets had to do was offer. That makes a lot more sense that Lopez has to agree to the deal. Still, I would offer if I was Houston, even if I didn't want Lopez. It will make D12 to the Nets impossible, and the Nets will have to match the offer. As bad as it would be for the Nets to lose the ability to trade Lopez, it would be even worse for them if he walked away for nothing. Isn't that what Detroit did to atl with Koncack? Or similar

If that was offered, what did Orlando think they were going to get from Brooklyn? It seems like that's the best deal they would be able to offer.
