We may disagree many many times but one thing we can all agree on is that there WILL BE ANOTHER BIG 3

we may disagree with certain players...some are for bynum, some are for cp3, and some are for harden then there are those who are against these guys but nonetheless there will be another BIG 3!

Its actually too obvious that there will be another BIG 3! why?.....

-there are stars at the olympics that are free agents next year like cp3 and harden

-every NBA team and player just saw what the LA Lakers did in getting D12

- and last this is just what superstar players do nowadays...they basically form teams of availible star players

What kills this excitement is that we as fans dont know what team they are going to decide to go to!All we know is that there is going to be another union of players to come together. of course its going to be a team with alot of cap space! and we arent the only ones with cap space.

P.S. I for one know the LA move to get Howard will put the lakers in contention for a championship for at the least 3 years and then maybe nash and Kobe retires. But with that said these other players like CP3 and harden or even Bynum arent getting younger! The Heat is already made to last for years to come and though LA isnt, nobody wants to wait!

I say Chris paul leaves the Clippers to team up with another star, Harden leaves okc for more money and a shot to team up with another star, and bynum will probably team up with whoever as long as he gets paid! Im not saying its going to be the hawks but with all the events taking place La getting superman, the olympics going on and knowing that there is no possible way to compete unless your on a team of atleast 2 other all star/superstar players....somebody is planning something!...hope its ferry!

Unless a team is going to be willing to pay the exhorbitant luxury tax, it is going to be difficult to amass a team with three superstars, or three perceived superstars (Miami is actually one legitimate superstar and two very good players). The superstar label gets thrown around frivilously, IMO.

I guess my quesiion would be who around the league does the Hawks have the ability to obtain? This upcoming crop of free agents that are not restricted is Chris Paul and D12. Paul is getting some injury issues and Dwight will resign with the lights of Los Angeles (and who can blame him?, He is a star player and the Lakers are focused on winning championships) The restricted guys list contains NO superstars and most will resign with their teams.

Chris Paul is already playing with a star

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMzJBSXfECE

If anything, he's in a better position with the Clipper and have them bring in another star, than him going somewhere else and playing with a star.

The fact that people better start coming to grips with, is that superstars don't choose ATL to come play for. Neither Smith nor Horford are good enough for a superstar or a ( top 10 player ) to come play with them in ATL. The Hawks are going to have to go after one of those young restricted free agents, and hope they develop into that superstar.

Or they need to hope Smith or Horford elevate their game to the next level.

Or get an under the radar 1st round pick that blows up into a star early on in his career.

JTB . . it's a reason why bad teams stay bad for a long time. And there's a reason why mediocre teams can't make the jump to elite at times. And it has to do with talent, more than anything else. That's why it's important for teams to not fall in love with non-superstar players, and move them around like chess pieces if they have a chance to get a superstar.

That same Clippers team moved what was once a one time All-Star center ( Chris Kaman ) . . and their explosive young scorer ( Eric Gordon ), just to get one man . . . Chris Paul.

"We decided for a player of Chris' caliber that it was just time to make the move and push all our chips into the center of the table," Clippers vice president of basketball operations Neil Olshey told the team's website. "We're really happy about it. Chris is the kind of player that makes everybody around him better. He's a general. He wins. He's a warrior, and he's going to take this whole organization to the next level."

When management gets serious about winning, those are the types of moves that have to be made. They don't fool around. If you're not willing to go ALL-IN, you need to get away from the poker table. And that also means not being deathly afraid of the Luxury Tax.

That's why the Hawks have been good, but not great. That's why offering up BOTH Smith and Horford to possibly bring in a superstar talent, should NEVER be off the table. None of those guys are superstars. So both of them are expendable.

Teams like the Lakers don't fool around. The Miami Heat didn't fool around. Boston fooled around, but came to their senses before it was too late, and brought in KG and Ray. Cuban didn't fool around before he finally won his title. Then he overthinks, and breaks up a title team in aspirations to get that elusive superstar. Now he might be screwed, because he may lose out on both Dwight and Deron, and might have to max out one of those 2nd tier guys like the Hawks will have to do.

First of all, there is currently a perception of the Hawks franchise that needs to be changed. That's what Danny Ferry is in the process of doing. He's working towards building a better infrastructure for success, and also building a better overall program. Once that is accomplished and the perception of this team has changed, this will become a more attractive spot for free agents. Second, James Harden may very well be the guy the Hawks should go all in on now that Dwight may very well be off the table. Even with Dwight, I'm not ready to say it is over. There is still a small chance that he does not resign with the Lakers, and unless the Lakers can move Pau in the next year, they may not be willing to spend all the luxury tax money it is going to take to resign him. Back to James Harden. James Harden is 17th in total win shares over the past two years as well as being 15th in WS48. He has the best TS% of all the shooting guards in the NBA. He is among the best defending and rebounding guards in the league. OKC is a small market team. They will not be able to keep all of Durant, Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka, and they have done cast their lot on Durant and Westbrook.

Yes, people are trying to beat the doors down so that they don't have to play alongside Durant and Westbrook. Why play with those two stiffs when they could play with Smith and Horford? (sarcasm intentional)Posted Image

I think too many think a little too highly of Harden when he hasn't even shown he is capable of doing what Joe did. I also think Josh , Al and Teague will prove that we have a big 3 of our own by increasing their level of play. Some forget they are 26 and younger and haven't ever had a chance to get from under the wings of Joe Johnson. Sometimes good players or having a team too stacked can hinder a team. Now we are able to grow freely with the three players that have the most potential on our team.
