Official Game Thread: Hawks - Celtics

Can't believe anyone watched this game.

The Kansas / Michigan was 10X a better game.

I tried to watch the Hawks on commercials............but they were not worth watching without Horford.

There were 4 possible Hawks draft picks in that Kansas / Michigan game that went to OT.

Now its time for Florida vs. FGCC..........biggest Cinderella to ever make the Sweet 16..... and yall are worried about a worthless game like this ?

Glad we benched Teague though. That 17-7 he had working in the 3rd was annoying.

The game was worthless in the big picture. Ferry has been scouting college games.............he knows what this team is. He didn't even bother watching the Hawks / Heat game live 2 weeks ago............he was busy scouting conference tournaments for our 2 first round draft picks.

Watch Paul Pierce take over the game.

See him score at will

Observe as he creates those --And one -- plays.

Watch as the Celtics can take three steps, without walking, and score.

See the Celtics intercept Hawk passes, over and over.

Observe their complete coverage of Korver - and he still gets his three shot.

Watch Doc Rivers as he cries to the officials.

See intimidation practiced by the Celtics.

Observe JS as he sinks all those threes - - Or not.

Ivan Johnson starts instead of Horford, who is out with stomach virus.

Petro starts ar center. That means JS is small foreward.

Garmet has been out as the Celtics lose lately.

GO HAWKS!!

Let's see, did I forget anything? Oh, yes. Watch as two former Hawk guards

as they bury us with 3's. That happened and I didn't mention it.

How far in to the game until Pierce had an "And one!" play? About 2 minutes.

Josh hit a three, then he took, and missed, how many long shots?

Pierce trips, falls down with the ball, slides across the court, calls time out

but doesn't get called for traveling.

Ivan attempted a shot, had it blocked and then was bashed on the head with the

defenders arm, knocking him to the floor, but he wasn't fouled!

Pierce hits JJ in the head hard enough to cause a concusion, yet he was able

to do this without fouling. Wow! Such talent!

Korver did continue his streak and they did free our second round rookie as

he played, perhaps his best NBA game and scored his NBA high in points.

Way to go Scott!

Hawks scored enough points to win, they just lost everyone on defense.

Our back up PG may be playing himself on to the roster for next season.

He's been looking good lately.

Out of all the bad, some good.

GO HAWKS

I knew with Al out Josh would turn into 'Jack 'em up Josh' - bad shot after bad shot. 5 3's hitting 1 and 6 measley rebounds (Tolly had 7) against a bad rebounding team without KG. Posted Image

Cuz he don't give a shit

yea im getting that vibe. Its a contract year and you think players would be trying to play their best basketball and to raise their free market value but his mindset is the complete opposite. He is like f*** this since I wont be here next year I am playing my way and not listening to anyone

and its atrocious coaching to allow this man to do this. One point of the game after halftime he jacked up 4 or 5 bad shots on consecutive possessions and LD didnt do a damn thing.

Smoove is really starting to ruin watching hawks basketball for me.

I remember that stretch of shots. That was right in the middle of Boston's only real cold streak where they weren't hitting anything but Josh was too busy taking the worst shots possible instead of cutting into the lead.

We watch as, to us, Josh's value goes down, down, down.

Josh scored inside. He hit most of his shots inside. He

wasn't bad from the free throw line. Suprise, Suprise!

He hit a three. Add up his points and his attempts. Now,

when we check the stats, how many shots did he take,

and miss, that were not inside? Bunches.

Arrogance, pure and simple. What else can it be? Furthermore,

it's dumb arrogance. I don't care. I'm playing small foreward

and this is what a small foreward is supposed to do. Can he

not see what he's doing to the Hawks? Apparently not.

Selfish, arrogant, dumb as a box of rocks. That's our super

athletic, wanna be all star. What really bothers Hawk fans who

watches this game after game, week after week and season

after season, we all think, "If only he would - - - - -" and we all

know that it is true.

Other teams look and say, our coach would have him so different

so quickly and he would be great. Sure, it will surely happen just

that way. We all know that it will. Go ahead and take him and see

just how wonderful he is. Please! Pretty please!

GO HAWKS!

PS - - How far down is the old man on Josh right now? If we had

Mike Scott and someone else had Josh, I wouldn't trade even.

Super good or super bad. Sometimes both. In the same game.

There were bright spots for the Hawks, who continued to fight despite not defending the dribble, iso-game very well. Mike Scott scored 19, Anthony Tolliver was 4-7 from three-point range and Jeff Teague was somewhat effective in a 17 point, seven assist effort. Josh Smith played directionless offensively without his 6'10 partner in frontcourt crime Horford and seemed to be the target of some comments from Hawks coach Larry Drew afterwards, Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Drew said the Hawks’ issues were again compounded by poor shots. “If you are not taking good shots, it’s as good as a turnover,” Drew said. “That is not anything we’ve haven’t talked about every road game we’ve played. We talk about our shot selection. We talk about not turning the ball over. We talk about limiting them to one shot and coming up with the rebound. When you take bad shots it’s as good as a turnover and tonight we took quite a few.” Atlanta Journal-Constitution

This sounds so much like what a lot of us on the Squawkk say. LD talking about it but doing nothing about it is just lip service.
