On the surface it looks a bit rich for Korver, and I fu@kin love the guy. I can live with a few million and a year excess because his intangibles are top notch, his mentorship to Jenkins is very important, he's a fan favorite, and clearly he wants to be around innovative coaching and basketball operations for his possible career after playing. I've always thought he couldn't repeat last season, and didnt mind much because I knew he'd be gone after the Lakers Fiasco. But I'm hoping like hell he does now he'll possibly retire a Hawk. 100% behind the signing. Carry on, Danny.

If we do sign Dwight, this makes a ton of sense. Korver's value is significantly enhanced with a big man drawing double teams. Failing Dwight, maybe Ferry sees Jefferson fitting that role. I'm not excited about that route but we might see Jefferson in the post with Korver, Teague, Jenkins, Lou, etc. all shooting 36%+ (like last season). Again, everyone knows I don't want to see Jefferson as our big signing but with this contract for Korver you have to think we are looking to establish some kind of game where his ability to spread the floor is a large factor in our offense.

There you go being all logical and stuff.

I freaking love it. I did a dance and gave my wife a high five when I heard the news. KK is a tremendous asset on and off the court for us. Great locker room guy. Will be the perfect mentor for Jenkins. Incredible work ethic. Legendary 3-pt specialist. Very high BBIQ. Takes good care of himself. Constantly moves on offense and always hussles on D. Not a bad defender. Was the third best rebounder on our team which shows serious effort for a guy who's normally out at the perimeter. I honestly didn't think he'd give the Hawks the time of day this offseason. Considering the other offers he's received I think he got FMV for his skills and that's just that. For those who don't like this move you're just malcontent contrarians. Dude is golden.

Korver's in his prime. His last 3 years have been the best of his career. (Dunleavy's career year was probably the average of Korver.)

Last year he was probably twice as valuable as Josh Smith, on a per-minute basis. What's not to like?

Wow.

Batum is one of the best defenders in the game. Very underrated.

Batum does everything from 3p shooter , runs floor , plays top notch defense , rebounds and can distrbute

He is making 10 mil per season and were paying a shooter Korver 6 mil per season

something is wrong

Yikes! More like

J.Jack/Korver/Delfino/Horford/Dwight

Schröder/Lou/Gary Neal/Jenkins//Scott/Hickson/Petro

Gotta surround Dwight with shooters. Haha

There is room for reasonable minds to disagree. At best, this is the high end of Korver's salary range. On the plus side, I at least will enjoy cheering for him and think his skill set would be perfect for the one free agent who could take this team to a contender status. I still have hope, but let's allow for people to have different views on this.

You do know Dunleavy avg 19 ppg and 5 rebs in a Season in Indy

Kevin Martin got 30 million,,, over four years. It may have been mentioned earlier in this thread, but I skipped. I played with him, we're from small town Ohio. I'm happy for K-Mart, but we got a better deal! Glad we got Korver back....!

What?

You realize that Korver's better than Batum, right?

Korver turns it over far less, scores MUCH more efficiently, and rebounds at a pretty close clip -- Korver is worse at offensive boards, basically.

Yes. Is there a point I'm missing?
