Watched the entire game {Thanks to my V.C.R.} and what

you see is what you get.

Hawks had a terrific first half, shooting around 70% from

the field. They looked wonderful. Yet, they trailed by

5, I believe, at the half.

As good as we looked on offense, we couldn't get the job

done on defense.

The Clippers looked great all night. They cleaned the

boards on both ends of the floor. They weren't hitting

like the Hawks, but they were getting put back shots

all night. About half of the points that they got were

from either put backs or Hawks turnovers. Over 50,

I think.

Very physical game inside and the Clippers were the ones

being physical. Theo picked up fouls like a string of

firecrackers going off ---bang-bang-bang. Therefore,

he had VERY limited minutes before he fouled out. He

spent more time on the bench than on the floor. The

only reason he didn't foul out sooner was because he was

on the bench. Two of the six were VERY questionable.

Turnovers were a problem because of the intense pressure

that the Clippers exerted and they appear to be very

quick into the passing lanes, etc. Still, Hawks had some

"Unforced" turnovers, those silly type- throwing a pass

to a player that's not there, this sort of thing.

The real reason for the defeat, however, was the fact

that the clippers drove the lane, played physical,

grabbed the missed shots under the basket and put them

back, sometimes getting two or three opportunities.

As I have said, over and over, Hawks need a BIG man to

come in on occasion, block some shots, rebound and

in general, get in the way in the lane when an opponent

has the ball. Not a starter or a star, the 12th man on

the end of the bench -- Boy, could the Hawks have used

such a player as that last night --We simply got eaten

alive on the boards on both ends.

Jason Terry was hot from the line but cold from the field.

Most of the Hawks shooting was all right, just that no

one had a hot hand, especially in the second half. We

shot "Lights out" in the first half but you just knew that

couldn't last.

Erase all that and start over tonight at 9 P.M. in a place

where we never win and against a team we never beat.

At least we won one on the road and they can't take

that away from us!!!

We shoot over 70% in the 1st quarter and still we are behind by 2 points when the opponent was shooting like 30%. That is not even logical?? There is really something terribly wrong with this team.

Stotts hasn't found this team yet and I am not sure he will. Shooting 70% and still behind?????

This is ridiculus!!!

Traceman:

O.K. Sign him up!!

Tuesday night, we needed him.

Different game with different results Wed. night.

Good win for these Hawks.

We're still short one MONSTER MAN to put in a few

minutes, clogging up the middle in a game like we

had tuesday night.
