Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted November 28, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted November 28, 2013 When would the Hawks have to make it official that they're swapping picks? For Billy King's sake, I hope it's BEFORE the lottery. (if he's still there by then). That would be so awkward! ~lw3
LamarHampton
Jason Kidd and his sneaky tricks.... smh Here's where you can see him tell Taylor to "hit me": http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10048642/jason-kidd-calls-hit-spill-drink-ice-free-throw-shooter Good for us it didn't work! WakaFlocka
Nice try, Jason. I'd imagine he'll be sending the league a check after that one.

GThawks3
Well Celtics get the Nets pick...so if we switch picks with the Nets the Celtics would get our pick.
rd79
Well Celtics get the Nets pick...so if we switch picks with the Nets the Celtics would get our pick. doesn't matter. the question is whether we could fall behind our own pick. that's why I hope we can switch AFTER the lottery
MaceCase
Meh, typically there aren't stipulations for when besides "before the pick" so it's an unwarranted fear unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Nets get lucky and get a high pick but whoever is there representing the team can't even celebrate. Ferry steps on stage and gives them all a hug. I can't imagine the switch will take place before the lottery, it wouldn't make any sense since we could potentially end up swapping for a worse pick. It seems like it will be an awkward moment indeed

Then we switch before the lottery.
Nicholasp27
The switch happens anytime we want until the actual draftIn practice, we will just automatically get the better pick after the lotto and the worse pick will go to Boston If nets make playoffs, 15 is the best pick we could get from them...even if they have 10th best record but best from Atlantic conference, then they would be 4th seed so no lotto balls
MaceCase
Check out the fact that Jerry West was sitting there as a representative of the Grizzlies despite the fact that the Pistons owned the pick outright all along.

They ended up with the #2 pick. Edited November 30, 2013 by nbasupes40retired
