See your name at the top right there? Drop down the options and the Ignore Function is in there.

The problem is it doesn't truly ignore as it lets you know when a poster has posted something. I'd love to see a board be able to show nothing, including quotes.

Thanks Duff! Yeah I would love to see that be how the feature works but so far nobody has made their forums work like that. Honestly though if seeing that someone posted (without seeing the content) stresses people out that much then they should probably consider therapy or not posting on message boards. After all the Internet was created so that people could b*tch about things and share porn!

The thing is I feel like the negative posters try and entice heated debates sometime. And when they get what they ask for, it sometimes falls on the shoulders of those who were baited. It's definitely happened to me before but I am managing to get my anger management under control. I mean this is a Hawks board with members that are (for the most part) passionately supportive of the team. It is like walking into a bar in Alabama talking about how dumb people in the south are. It will probably not go over well. Just my 2 cents - not that it matters. Though I will def echo the sentiments that this board is far and away the best forum in sports and this is a testament to the mods.

Of course they're trying to entice heated debates. That's why I say just ignore it or put them on ignore if you don't want to get into heated debates. We have no problem with heated debates either as long as people don't make it personal by calling people trolls and things of that nature. As AHF always says, respond to the post, not the poster. I'm as of guilty of not following that rule as anyone else sometimes so it's not easy for me either as I am a hothead and sometimes I even need to be reigned in because of it. Other times I have to try and wear my moderator hat (like in this thread) and try and make sure that we are keeping the discussion about the discussion and not about our personal feelings for particular members. Finally, I absolutely agree that we are one of the best communities out there and it's because of our terrific members who are among the brightest around... and even the :sun: members offer their own brand of contribution to the site that help make us better.

The problem with Hotlanta's "negativity" is that it is based on fact. That's why his statements sting so much at times.

I used to feel the same way that some of you felt toward dude. But go back and look at some of the stuff he said. Like it or not, a lot of the stuff he's said . . was right.

The problem with this franchise/GM right now, is that they're trying to straddle the fence. In a draft in which they could've obtained a franchise changing player, they opted to pass. But then when they had the cap space to bring on possibly 2 impact players, they didn't do that either.

And until Ferry proves that he's willing ( or is able ) to flip a player for a tangible asset, he's going to get the type of criticism that Hotlanta is talking about.

We'll see how long the Ferry honeymoon will last around here.

Calling the team "f***ing losers" is really constructive and factual.

Of course I guess I should expect that crap from a guy who used to come in here and use racial slurs (albeit against whites so nobody cared, but still).

And to think the shtick is still going after 12 years leads me to believe he started posting at 10 years old or has tremendous anger issues.

Educate me - who is the franchise player we missed in the draft? Blowing the team up to rebuild isnt the side of the fence i want to be on. Straddling the fence or whatever.. You have 2 teams on the good side of the fence in the east.. I dont mind straddling the fence with the flexibility to get off onto the good side then purposefully putting the team on the bad side in the hopes that OkC luck dawns on it in the draft. That hasnt worked for most teams that tried that tactic... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm assuming he means that we should have not signed Millsap or Korver or Teague and tanked this year to try and get one of the top 3 guys this year. Good luck with that as bad as the Least is!

I'm curious who these 2 impact players are that we didn't sign though. I mean I know the player doesn't have any choice if we want to sign them so who could they have been?

Im assuming Howard and Paul? Why did we choose not to sign them? Posted Image

Thinking either one of these guys was available to anyone except the Rockets and Clippers is complete farce.

Jefferson and Iggy wouldnt have put us in better position than Sap and DMC imo... jefferson is a good scorer but not good defender..iggy is only slightly better overall than dmc.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah I agree I don't think Iggy at this point in his career is that much better than DMC. Jefferson and Millsap are pretty much a wash as well.

I know we've rehashed this debate a million times, but I said it before the season and I'll say it now: this draft is "overrated," as in the top end is overrated. Embiid and to a lesser extent Parker/Wiggins have a ton of talent, but both Embiid and Parker may not be in this upcoming draft. There's PLENTY of talent between 4 and 20. Depends on who we want and how we develop it.
