Merged: Knicks want Teague

If we can Tim hardaway Jr and a 1st round from the Knicks for Teague then I will be ecstatic....Knicks are desperate so that could work.

The salaries wouldn't match up, and I doubt that Knicks would trade Hardaway and their next 1st round pick.

Man people are really overvaluing Tim Hardaway Jr Teague is a much better player than him. We would have to get a first too. IMO Shumpert had much more impact in his rookie season and look at his trajectory now. I believe Ferry is trying to get Shumpert because he's undervalued right now. He probably offered the Knicks Lou and the Knicks threw out Teagues name. The realistic trade here is Lou for Shumpet and fillers. Swap to underachieving guys coming off knee injuries. Good low risk high reward trade for the hawks. From day one Shump makes a better defensive team and is probably a better pg than Lou in a pinch. If Bud can turn him around he may be able to recapture the star potential he had. At worst he's a good 3d compliment to Korver.

@IheartFerry. Agreed. I can't stand the Knicks either. But the Hawks motivation in even talking to a team with practically no assets seems quite clear. They messed up by matching the deal for Teague.

And we have a winner folks!!!! "But the Hawks motivation in even talking to a team with practically no assets seems quite clear. They messed up by matching the deal for Teague."Exactly! And my thoughts as well. That's why we will here Teague name in more rumors as the deadline gets closer.

I would not even look at Shumpert. There is a reason that he is sitting on a sorry Knicks team.

Agree with that above.

This is my opinion.

I like the idea of trading Carroll / Brand for Jeff Green.

I could live with the idea of trading Teague for certain SGs ( I just don't like Shumpert or Henderson since both are poor shooters). I'm not oppose to keeping Teague if the right fit is not there in a trade.

Mack / Dennis

SG / Korver / Jenkins

Green / Korver

Milsap / Musclala

Horford / Anitic / BeBe

Add in next years 1st round pick and I would like to see how that roster does.

We will see what happens and maybe someone else can weigh in on this, It is my understanding that Teague doesn't or never has wanted to be here. Now that might be a myth but his play certainly is questionable lately.

I cant get anything to copy but the New York Post has a article written by the guy that covers the Knicks and he says they will pass on Teague. Also on Hoops Rumors

@Vol4ever sounds like you've got the Internet Explorer problem that @JayBirdHawk mentioned a month or so ago. Whatever update they did it no longer works with this editor. I suggest using a modern browser like Chrome for a much better (and safer) experience.

For those saying that Shumpert cannot shoot, I'd like to point out that his career (.352%) and current (.358) 3pt %'s are both higher than that of Teague (.327 career) and he's far and away the better defender. He's also nearly equal in TS% this year at 50% and is higher at eFG% 47% to 44%. So before we start saying a guy cannot shoot let's remember that our guy can't either.

Now I don't think he's the prototype starting SG but I've seen this guy put up some good offense when he's gotten the chance. I don't think he's worth Teague straight up as a starting PG has more value than a borderline starting SG who might be better as a defensive specialist off the bench but I would really like to have Shumpert on this team.

I was referring more to his over FG% .392 for his 3 year career. He reminds me of younger, slightly more athletic version of Carroll. He makes sense if we flip Carroll/ Brand for Green. Edited by coachx

He's a 3 and D kinda guy and those guys have great roles in the Spurs (now Hawks) systems. He won't do much from 2pt land but I think he would be great from 3 and in transition and he's a heck of a defender. I just think he's rotting away under Woody.

I've been trying to work out what pics Toronto has since this may be a 3 team trade. Do they actually have the option of picking up Sacramento's 2nd round pick this year (currently 34th)?

If so, I'd trade Teague for that pick plus Shumpert or Hardaway Jr. (preferred).

Dolfan,

I think you are right about my computer. On my IPad there is not a problem, but at my office I cannot use google chrome because it is death to business systems.

Thanks

I know some companies don't like it but that's all we use here as IE is just so unsecure that it's just begging to get something nasty on your system. Do they allow you to use Firefox or Safari? You could also try and use IE in compatibility mode and that would allow it. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do until a new version of this editor comes our or IE gets back in line with everyone else.

I brought the head of IT in and met with the companies we do business with. My IT guy told me the companies haven't upgraded their systems to run the chrome stuff. I'm in the insurance business. Most of our companies are online.
