Randy
Well, I didn't have to wait. But how can they waive a guy who started for them last night? Or was it the night before? Or both? He's got some usefulness - why in the world they want a 37 year old relic is beyond me.

Admin
They have to waive someone in order to make the trade. Doesn't mean we are keeping Jamison.
Guest
TL;DR Did anyone make a joke about Duke and UNC playing tonight? And that is why Danny essentially took money from Antawn?

Admin
waived martin I know. My post was in response to Randy thinking that this meant we're not waiting the 48 hours to see if we are keeping Jamison.
Admin
And doesn't it feel like we've already traded for Jamison at some point, only to cut him and have him go to a contender?

Premium Member supermariowest Posted February 20, 2014 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 20, 2014 Lol. These reactions are great. The people who have been talking about tanking for the past four months are upset because Ferry didn't do much to make the team better at the deadline? The team can't get better and worse at the same time. Anyway, I wouldn't mind watching Jamison play on the Hawks for the next few months as long as he doesn't cut into Scott's minutes. Eddielives
So with this move, have we taken the league lead in oldest team? Nothing like veteran savvy to get me all hot and bothered.
DJlaysitup
what the *bleep* do we need extra cash for Well you can say what you want about our owners...but they ain't altogether stupid. They know that Spring is right around the corner and those lawn maintenance guys don't take checks. (especially not from them)

AHF broke it down pretty well earlier but I disagree with him and think we can certainly get to the 7th or 8th worst record by the time we're done.

I think the tanking people are annoyed for something like this: * I thought tanking was the right move 4 months ago and instead was told that we were going to compete. Now we are electing not to compete and we aren't getting the benefit of tanking. So it is a lose/lose?* If we were just going to circle the drain at the end of the year, shouldn't we have tanked from the beginning so we had a shot at one of the elite prospects at the top of the draft? Why go through all this to get a draft pick around #12 when we could be around #4?* Now that we paid for Teague, Korver, etc. to compete we don't have a chance to land a star as a FA signing either. So what were we accomplishing by competing this year if we aren't going to make a move to actually compete when the team is struggling? Premium Member Jody23 Posted February 21, 2014 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 21, 2014 What would be sad is if the Hawks allow a bunch of veterans who won't even be on the team in the next couple of years to make the playoffs and miss out on a lottery pick. Guest
"We’ll look at Antwan over the next couple of days and decide if it’s the best fit for each other. Regarding Antwan, I have personal experience with him from the year we were together in Cleveland. He was, and always has been, the ultimate professional and high-class guy. That is his trademark within the NBA. He really is a gentleman." Edited February 21, 2014 by JayBirdHawk
