Gray Mule
Something has gone wrong and I don't understand any of it. Some of you squawkers who are knowledgeable please explain things to me. Here's what I have seen happen, especially in the final quarter of our last two games: Hawks drive inside with one of the following usually happens. 1- shot is blocked. 2- We're called for a charge. 3- Player is smothered inside and ball taken away. Opponent drives inside and one of the following happens. 1- Shot goes in. 2- Shooter is fouled and the shot still goes in for that "And one" call. 3- Hawks try to tie up the ball, only to be called for the foul. Why / How come that our opponent can always play such terrific defense and get the calls? Why / How come the Hawks can play such terrible defense and our opponent get the calls? I know. We're not that great defensive team that we wish we were. Still, all this seems to be awfully one sided when the game is on the line. Maybe it's that way all the time, but the fourth quarter seems to be, well, the worst. Do our players suddenly, when the final quarter starts, forget how to play defense? What can we do? I am dumfounded. Someone please help the old man.
HawkItus
I don't know Gray. I saw us get what 3 and 1's in a row one game. I think we are just inclined to see our team get cheated more than what actually happens.

Actually, I'd say officiating in the games i've seen this year has seemed a little better than normal. But that's not saying much.

TheNorthCydeRises
Teague never gets calls though. That isn't anything new. How about the fact that we can't stop much of anybody. That's the REAL problem. Can't get calls + can't stop anybody = recipe for a loss No conspiracy theories needed. This has been happening all year when we play decent to good teams. Gray Mule
Punctuation? Yep. It's everything. Here is a great example, using exactly the same words but, see how it changes. Jaybird, you should like this one. The man says, "Woman, without her man, is nothing." The woman says, "Woman, without her, man is nothing." Now, if you don't believe that where you place the comma makes a difference, please have someone explain this one to you!!
Endy9
Every time this topic comes up I remember playing the Celts in the playoffs in the 80s and having one of the Boston guards get tangled up with Nique and the ball come loose. Nique dove to get the ball, was laying on the ground looking to pass and Larry Bird came over stepped on his stomach, ripped the ball loose, passed up court. No call. That's when I gave up on the Hawks ever getting a fair shake from the officials.
