Man......

It's like I took a time machine back to 2004 and I'm listening to people rant and rave about Terry Stotts, Bobby Sura, and the Mercenaries...

They "play their hearts out" and we're gonna "cheer them on" and "I'll never root for my team to lose" and "I hope they fight it out all the way to the last game of the season" and "you guys aren't real fans." lol

It is literally...2004 and I just joined Hawksquawk a few months ago. The only downside is that I gotta wait until 2024 to make this post again.

(...oh wait, it's not like 2004 because back then WE WERE ACTUALLY REBUILDING!)

So, the Hawks may end up in 8th place. Good. Then, we face

the King. That will guarantee that the games @ home will be

well attended. Sure, many, if not most, will be Heat fans. So

what. Their money is good. Let them spend it here.

If the Hawks play every playoff game as well as they did their

last game, we might actually give the Heat fits. Wouldn't that

be a shocker!

Just look at the example of what the Braves have done this

season. With many of their pitchers out for the season and

others out for a while, they were expected to really struggle.

Yet, this morning they have a 4-1 record and that one loss

was 2-0 and their pitching has been excellent.

Like the Braves, the Hawks will not be expected to provide

any competition for the mighty Heat. Just as the Braves have

been a surprise, the Heat just might find themselves in a real

battle. Remember that series with the Celtics, who expected

to sweep and it went seven?
