DJlaysitup
We really had a shot at this win. Doing well - and up in the 2nd half.Pero can no longer hit the side of a barn so change things Bud...not like he stopped hitting shots last night.Offense without Millsap in looks like feces. Say all you want about Teague but without Millsap in as a threat they just corner him or go on help defense immediately if he moves towards the basket.Without Pero doing much I would play EB a lot more next game. Maybe Indy gets all smug and EB can do some business. But wow...can't really blame the refs entirely on this one...we shot 35%...they shot 48%.This was a big chance missed.Hate to see our Hawks miss chances like this...we work so hard to get the few we get... Premium Member Diesel Posted April 26, 2014 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 26, 2014 I believe that Indy will indeed get smug. However, wee have to go in hungry. We have to have a game plan against bad calls. We have to know what to do when our shots aren't falling. We have to learn how to attack better. Alex
This was game seven. Winner of this game was winning the series no matter.

The problem is, he takes away our mismatch at center and slow down our pace. 7 minutes 0 points 1 rebound 1 asst. No thanks.
Carmine
If we drafted Gorgui Dieng like we should have we'd have won handedly.
willthepureshooter
If we drafted Gorgui Dieng like we should have we'd have won handedly. How about if Bud unclamped Muscala from the bench?! I'm fed up with his sick obsession with HIS style of play. The playoffs is a different monster so you have to take chances as a coach. GameTime
If we drafted Gorgui Dieng like we should have we'd have won handedly. Not sure how Dieng would fix our "Not hitting wide open jumpers" problem.
Guest
It was a missed opportunity. There is enough blame to spread around on this one... From coaching, to refs to players. I'm still optimistic. Edited April 27, 2014 by JayBirdHawk

Endy9
The pressure is still on them to prove they are a #1 seed and win game 5. They had a ton of pressure again today. I don't think they hold up so well under constant pressure. Us? What pressure could our guys have? They can just go out and play their best game and either way not a lot to lose. What we're gonna prove we aren't worthy of an 8 seed? We already did that. We got no pressure they have it all.Sorry meant we already proved we are worthy of more than an 8 seed, meant to say.
DrReality
Agree DJ: our shots weren't falling! I'm not sure there is a lot we can change given our limitations with personnel. But I think Bud has made up some of the difference with his coaching. We'll see what's up his sleeve.
TheNorthCydeRises
Elton Brand was terrible, he had the lowest +- out of any hawk on the floor. The problem is, he takes away our mismatch at center and slow down our pace. 7 minutes 0 points 1 rebound 1 asst. No thanks. LOL . . . compared to the 25 minutes - 2 points - 2 rebounds - 2 assist that Antić gave us yesterday? He was +2 though, so . . let's throw a parade for that. Antić has a 0.5 PER for the series. Hibbert has a 2.4 PER. Neither of them are doing crap. There is no "mismatch" at center. Both of those guys are 'self-checked" right now. They can leave each other open, and they still won't score.
Premium Member Vol4ever Posted April 27, 2014 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) Would have been nice to have Horf in this series. If I was the media I would be saying "and the Hawks don't even have Al Horford" Edited April 27, 2014 by Vol4ever
Alex
Teams who aspire to turn the corner and actually garner respect around the league don't have a team on the ropes at home and then piss it all away. One game can happen, but the series essentially was riding on that second half and like usual they crapped the bed.
ag82
Teams who aspire to turn the corner and actually garner respect around the league don't have a team on the ropes at home and then piss it all away. One game can happen, but the series essentially was riding on that second half and like usual they crapped the bed. Are you kidding? Plenty of good/great teams have done exactly that. How did Miami do the year after totally blowing a championship to the Mavs? The spurs blew a championship to the heat and they are one of the most respected teams. 7 game series, man. These things happen. This relentless negativity is really hard to comprehend. I'm just mind blown at that statement. They playoffs are amazing because they get so crazy. Plenty of home teams are losing. Makes absolutely zero sense. You know what teams turning the corner do? They back the #1 seed up against the wall.
