Admin
This sucks for us if he gets the job. But good for him if he does. Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted May 30, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted May 30, 2014 "Come all without... come all within..." Good luck, Quin! I suspect if we won Game 7 vs. Indy, he'd be locked down already. ~lw3

Guest
We want compensation from the Jazz for this. The 5th pick in the draft sounds fair to me. Thoughts?

Admin capstone21 Posted May 30, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted May 30, 2014 I didn't expect Quinn to remain here long...he was one of the leading candidates to be our head coach last year.
GrimeyKidd
How do coach trades work?
Guest
If a coach (head) is under contract there can be compensation negotiated, picks or cash but not players. Boston got a 1st round pick for a Doc. Not sure if same applies for assistants.

If they have a head coaching opportunity, you lose them for nothing... Kind of like the Spurs losing some Assistant last offseason without compensation.
benhillboy
I say he stays another year, helps develop Bebe, Shredder, and JJ, then holds out for another Head Job opening up next year. All of them should be better than Utah. All they have is Burke and sh&t after Hayward bolts. Edited May 31, 2014 by benhillboy
HalfHawk
I guess this is how the Spurs felt when we took Bud :(
DrReality
I'm sure DF and Bud have their eye on someone to replace him........if it happens. Anyone inhouse that could step up?
Moderators PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted June 1, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) I guess this is how the Spurs felt when we took Bud :(No, us taking Bud hurt the Spurs a lot more than us losing Quin will. Spurs nation had Bud lined up to be Pop's successor and Danny swept through and made him our HC. No one is looking at Quin as a future HC of the Hawks. Bud's our guy for a long while. Premium Member cam1218 Posted June 1, 2014 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 1, 2014 Bud's our guy for a long while. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I really hope this part is true. Do we even know what type of contract he has with us? I haven't tried too hard, but I haven't found anything on the years and money that we gave him.
