Guest
By the way if we are including football then I met Steve Young at SF airport in 2007. Well not met but apparently I was the only one there for some odd reason to notice him and he kinda stared at me like...I know you know me, I wonder if ur gonna bug me for an autograph so I didn't. Lol. Also Patrick Willis was sitting at the table next to mine in a restaurant with a DB from the Chicago Bears but I forgot his name. This was 2011. Oh, also Manny Lawson was ahead of me in line at the grocery store in 2010. Also met Andre Carter at Jamba Juice in 2009. Had my gf take a pic of us on my phone. That's it. My wish is to meet Nique, Spud, Barry Sanders and Ron Gant one day. Pretty much my favorite athletes of all time.
mtnbayou
Used to run into Karl Malone some. He lives in my hometown. Drives a big truck with extra fuel tank in back. Usually saw him at the Arby`s/gas station he opened. The guy is a very large man. Can`t wait for the day to run into my hero, Paul Millsap, sometime in Ruston at the grocery store Hung out with a cousin of Millsap`s once - cool dude Edited June 13, 2014 by mtnbayou
TheNorthCydeRises
Personally knew both Trenton Hassell ( best known as the defensive specialist in Minnesota ) and Shawn Marion. Trent still swings by some of the gyms and plays ball on some weekends. Dude is extremely tight with money. Definitely didn't waste his money since he's been out the league. He's a good dude. Shawn I knew through my cousin, who was best friends with his twin sister Shawnett. Super cool, laid back dude. He pretty much disowned the city he grew up and played ball in ( Clarksville, TN ) and started repping Chicago ( where he was born ) and Phoenix. Haven't seen him in person since his homeboy's funeral about 7 yrs ago. Edited June 13, 2014 by TheNorthCydeRises

JTB
These stories are great that I've read so far. I met Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin. He was actually a QB at kirkwood high school facing my school in the State Championship. Also @LamarHampton....I met chili from TLC too just a few years ago. I was in a grocery store somewhere in ATL visiting family, I walk over to the next aisle and there she was. I didn't approach her cause she looked pretty serious doing her grocery shopping, however My cousin and I did stock her a couple aisle to make sure it was her. Lol Also met NFL linebacker mike jones (several times he came to my high school) who was the nfl player that had the game saving tackle on Kevin dyson in the rams vs titans Super Bowl on the final play of the game. bird_dirt
When I lived in ATL I worked at an art gallery that was in the TULA center in midtown. Kevin Willis had a designer clothes shop for big men in a space below us so I would see him regularly, plus occupational other pros that would visit him. Deke apparently came in our gallery a few times, but I never saw him there. That was a fun job. Met other celebrities there, but not a lot of athletes into art I don't guess. Elton John came in a number of times while I was working, Faith Hill, Courtney Cox when she was filming Scream 2, music producers....
willthepureshooter
I played against Lou Williams in high school. And my AAU coach played for the Kansas City Kings I think but not sure. He played for the ABA or NBA. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Speaking of big heads - Shelvin Mack was in the check out lane at Walmart ahead of me. Saw Jamal Crawford at a Walgreens.

MaceCase
Have champaigned and campaigned with quite a few out here in NY lately (mostly watched them pull all the top strippers and tail away from my table, this is why you never actually take a girl you're interested in to the club, there's a guy on twitter who gave a whole Derek Jeter story that has had me and a few friends laughing since because we have witnessed similar tales) Mostly used to see a few Knicks at a barbershop I went to often when I was younger (Jalen, Malik Rose, the one and only Jamal Crawford whom I've also caught up with at some gyms in Seattle since) Reminds me, about a awhile ago my older sister was in town and she said she had met this guy named Trevor Ariza at the club who kept telling her he was in the NBA. I told her stay the f*** away....mostly because of stories I heard in the 'shop.......partially because he was some 2nd round rook scrub.

Premium Member Vol4ever Posted June 13, 2014 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) Years ago played some pickup ball at UT-Chatt arena. Willy White who played for Denver was there all the time and believe it or not Dominique and his brother Gerald used to come by and play some. Gerald lives in Chattanooga. No, I was not good enough to ball with them but I was on the court out of the way! Edited June 13, 2014 by Vol4ever

Moderators PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted June 13, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted June 13, 2014 @Dolfan23 So meeting Manute doesn't get your attention huh? Dude was long even while sitting.. Oh man spudz I'm gonna try hard to ignore what you said lol. I'm sure it was weird meeting such a tall dude. My only real time in the civilian world with an NBA player was sitting a couple rows back from Houston to San Fran when Yao Ming was sitting in the front row and legs hanging way out into the aisle. http://media.mtvnservices.com/embed/mgid:arc:video:comedycentral.com:0a93de4e-ed01-11e0-aca6-0026b9414f30 Watch the whole vid or start rolling it @ 2:20 for the reference. lmao
