The Dilemma.

Elitist is how he operates. It's a Duke Thing.  The thought that you're superior to everyone around you. You claimed that he's no nonesense and accountability.  Sorry, that's the description for Pop.  At the same time, Pop doesn't look down his nose at any player at any time.  Ferry on the otherhand has.  It was never intended to be code for racist... and I don't think that Ferry is racist but elitist becomes racist when you put  racial overtones into the mix.  So his actions of recent times have made you have to stop and think...

Consider Pop's brutal assessment that foreign players are "fundamentally harder working than most American kids,"

The international kids, he says, "have less. They appreciate things more. And they're very coachable."

Any cries of elitism? Culturalism? Xenophobia? Is "American" code for any thing in a league that is predominantly black African American?  No?  I guess rings make you Teflon.

As to giving credit to Ferry for the Joe trade?  Well look no further than the non-cohesive yet vehement arguments between the two people who are least impressed by it, Wretch and NorthCyde.  Wretch says it's "the moon and stars aligned" meaning it was a lucky opportunity, NorthCyde OTOH believes that that celestial miracle occurs every other fortnight.  So which is it?  Either side you fall on that coin you can still manage to frame it as a negative though, either Ferry got lucky or he foolishly jumped at the first opportunity.  Both show a lack of insight or creativity so bam, a monumental franchise changing move is masterfully rendered as a footnote.
