Moderators Popular Post PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted March 26, 2015 Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted March 26, 2015 I like Steve Kerr, but I hate that he gets so much praise for what the Warriors have accomplished. They are playing in a deteriorating division (Clips haven't been clicking this season, and then Lakers, Suns, Kings) with the leading MVP candidate in Steph Curry, the biggest up-and-coming player in the league with Klay Thompson, a Millsap-lite in Draymon Green, Harrison Barnes/Andrew Bogut, and they have 2 ex-All-Stars and an emerging Speights coming off their bench... All the while they have stayed relatively injury free. And what had Bud coached with this season? We have a lot of good-to-great players on this team and we did have 4 guys in the All-Star game, but no one is considered a MVP candidate. DMC was struggling for minutes before joining the Hawks, Bazemore wasn't a shooter, and NOBODY had us slated to win the East BY A LANDSLIDE before the season started. Warriors were expected to be a top 3 team. The Hawks came out of nowhere. And not to forget the player development we've seen in every player on our team. Mike Budenholzer should be coach of the year WITHOUT QUESTION. But he coaches the Hawks, so there's that.
Guest
@PSSSHHHRRR87 let's not forget that same team won 50+ games just last season. Kerr deserves credit for sure but, like you said, that team is stacked.
Guest
The Hawks also rank #6 in GM rankings with Bud and Wilcox at the helm.
Moderators macdaddy Posted March 26, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted March 26, 2015 Seems like Kidd and Casey were kind of slighted. Not sure how they are blow stevens and vogel or even splostra and doc.

Stevens, Vogel and Spoelstra are all good coaches in my opinion. Doc wins the award for most overrated.

Guest
Horny, Kidd and Brad Stevens need to be higher. As much as I hate Kidd he is not working with a lot. I also hate the Celts big time but Stevens is also working with little.
Ebert
In my opinion I would take Stan Van Gundy and Quin Snyder over some other coaches ahead of them... they are GREAT coaches.

Pardon me, I should say that they do average some numbers. WHOAH! Talk about advanced analytics, huh? {/sarcasm}(good to remember that ESPN considers this as part of their analytics department and calls it the best prediction system in the past 5 years...or in other words, please don't read ESPN)

I really wanted SVG before we hired Bud. I think he will do a very good job in Detroit when it's all said and done. I mean the guy just dumped Josh, he isn't afraid to shake things up. JETSET
Doc is not overrated to me. Spo is. Doc has turned the Clippers in to a hot mess. Traded away all of their youth for over the hill players. Brings his son in who is straight terrible. That Celtics team won the title because they had 3 Hall of Famers and elite defense and Thibs was the one coaching that defense.
Guest
Doc is not overrated to me. Spo is. I'm with @JETSET on this one. Doc in ORL was middling at best and he was really on the verge of being fired in BOS before the big 3 saved him. LAC has been a mess (primarily due to Doc being a poor personnel guy). On the court that team is a mess, a talented mess. They can't stop complaining, can't defend without fouling and generally look unorganized on offense. Their wins, like BOS, are due to talent not Doc's coaching. Admittedly, Doc's GMing is the main problem in LAC but his coaching is mediocre at best. He definitely commands the respect of the players which masks his X's/O's deficiencies and keeps his rep a good one in league circles IMHO. Spo has done a pretty good job considering the circumstances. I don't consider him a great coach by any means though.
