Bazemore and Th Jr , and Holiday all have to prove and fight for minutes. Training camp will be interesting this year.

 

Korver and Thabo coming off serious injuries, Holiday is gonna get minutes. His D is the best compared to Baze and Th Jr.

His defense is much better than Baze or THJr looking at their numbers before they were Hawks but Baze was in LA and TH was in NYK. Both of those teams have horrible defenses and teams.

Yeah, not gonna lie the breakdown came on rapidly. Seems like the avalanche coincided with my 40th birthday, precisely. But with some tweaks from the specialists, as good as my early 30s again. It's like owning a vintage car: with the right mechanic, better than new

I'm a young 44 though. My 11 year old daughter says "You don't even look or act 34." She's close, I look/act/feel about 32. Thabo will be fine...

Some of you "old men" really tickle my funny bone.

 

Example:  "Can't go hard on the basketball court for over one hour now instead of three!"

35 and feeling 25?  Gee!

 

Back to the new player.  He's considered a combo guard.  Could play either the one or two guard.

From what we find here, he's a better than average defensive player and always has been.  He

has a great wing span.  He has a very decent IQ.  Still has his first wife and isn't a playboy type.

 

It requires all players on the roster to make up a team.  When you do a puzzle, it requires all

the pieces to make the picture complete.  He's another piece.  Unless the Hawks experience a

big bunch of injuries or he explodes with his "potential" that hasn't yet been tapped, he will be

one of the spare parts, down the bench, giving us a few minutes each night.

 

This is another thing that makes Hawksquawk so great.  All this excitement about signing someone

who is not expected to become an all star but who is expected to give the Hawks minutes on the

floor on a nightly basis.

The great thing is we have lots of options to play matchups, go small, rotate guys in to guard someone who is hot. The new guys will fill roles that will make us versatile

I still think that we'll make a Trade Deadline move if the Thabo/Bazemore/Scott experiment doesn't work out.
