Gray Mule
SOUTHEAST DIVISION - NBA. Games played, to date: 21 -------Atlanta 18-------Miami 18-------Charlotte 16-------Miami 16-------Washington Two teams have played three games less and two teams have played five less! Who in the back shadows of the NBA decided, in their devious mind, that the Atlanta Hawks, who had won the east last season in the regular season, would be forced to go through what we've just survived? Hawks have the first quarter of their season behind them. All these other teams in the S E Division have a ways yet to go. Bud and his staff have had little or no time to work out the team, iron out anything that could be wrong. Nope. The Hawks have been too busy playing while everyone else in our division rested and worked with their new players. Hawks are a little tired but this can't continue. All NBA teams play the same number of games. We will sit back, practice and rest while they all play catch up!
Popular Post LamarHampton
I don't know about them but I'm sure tired. Tired of losing. Tired of excuses. Even though they've played 3-5 games more than other teams, we had plenty of games that we should have won and just didn't. Especially considering last year we won 60 and we have our four all-stars back. Time to put on their big boy underoos and get to work and win some damn games.
Premium Member Popular Post sturt Posted December 4, 2015 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted December 4, 2015 I'm sure others have pointed it out, but in case no one has... we didn't really turn the corner last season until right around Christmas. I think there's still some chemistry, both on offense and on defense, being learned with the new additions and with players like Baze and Moose stepping into more playing time.
AUhawksfan
Can time off to rest and get more practices help this team? I definitely think so. I feel our best has yet to come. Should we be 12-9 with our tough early season schedule? Not at all, no excuses. I can understand a loss here and there because of it but there have been some major inconsistencies and letdowns too many times this season (both Minnesota games, Brooklyn, Utah, and of course Toronto).
Gray Mule
At last, After Friday's game against Kobe, Atlanta is off until Wednesday. Players and coaches say, "This will give us time to rest up, heal and practice so we can correct many things." Hopefully, this works out. We will see. GO HAWKS !!
Plainview1981
Golden State has only played once less game and they don't look "tired". There are some other teams that have played like 20 games or something. I think the issues are deeper than that.
Gray Mule
Yes, but Golden State has the one player in the NBA who is capable of averaging forty points per game, game in and game out. There is good, there is great and above all, Golden State. Take away that one player and the remainder of their team are merely human!

I was looking at the daily NBA schedule trying to see when we played next. The first game I saw was the Mavericks game, but I actually went back and double checked because I thought there was no way we could possibly have 4 days off. Let's just hope the rest and extra practice time help us straighten some of our issues out!

I think it is less fatigue and more needing some time on the practice floor to make adjustments. There is no magic lever we can pull to make ourselves like GS, but we can play at a higher level than we have been playing lately.
ATLSmith
Fatigue is absolutely having a negative impact on the teams performance. This time off is going to do wonders for their energy level. At the very least I'm expecting to see some lock-down defense in the first few games back.
