What will not resigning him say about our organization if for the 2nd offseason in a row we let a breakout player walk? Baze seems like a likeable dude and if we don't pay him we might develop a negative rep among free-agents. We all know why we couldn't sign DC but fact is he walked.

I think we will probably find a reasonable contract for him.   He's energy.  So was DMC but we have nobody to replace Baze.

No negative rep.  It will be like UK basketball.  Come there and get drafted to the NBA.  Come to Atlanta and get yourself an 8 figure per season FA deal.

Atlanta probably doesn't pay as well as Kentucky tho.

Says more about Budball that we have breakout players than it does about Baze/DMC. Baze walks, next breakout up.

It was a choice between the 2 players that they have develooed - Millsap and DMC. Nothing bad about that.

Yeah, not gonna get a bad rep from a team that helps you get PAID, regardless of where those checks come from. 

But that only helps us out with young, unknown players, not the established stars we seek. We just gotta keep these young gun coals glowing until the right FA opportunity falls our way so we can strike.
