Looking at the board, Ashley and I think we've got a lot to smile about.

1993-ashley-judd-400_0.jpg?itok=goBysFa0

We've decided to draft Dirk's heir apparent as a stretch PF when he one day decides to ride off into the sunset.  You can't have enough in the way of perimeter bigs in the modern NBA.

With the 122nd pick of the draft, the U-Niques select:

Nikola Mirotic

2015-nikola-mirotic-espn.jpg

In his age 23 & 24 seasons, he has averaged a per36 of 17.6 points and 8.4 rebounds to go with his handful of assists and a block and steal.  With his opportunity to start finally arriving in Chicago, we expect him to elevate his career ~17 PER and become the big scorer out of the frontcourt this season.  His pedigree is great with his awards as the Euroleague's Rising Star (for most promising young player) and multiple All-Euroleague selections while he was young than some of this year's draftees.

Oh, and did we mention he is 6'10'' and shot 39% from 3pt range last season?  We think his immediate production and future promise is a combination that we can't pass up.

Welcome to the team!

Honestly it was between Stanley, Winslow and Mirotic on my board at my last pick. Nice pick.

ps...I even had my summary all set up with...

And the 3rd Nikola is a charm....Vucevic, Jokic and now the realist ...MIROTIC!!!

I really wanted to use that...I guess I ended up using it...:-|

OT: Anyone ever used to watch Married with Children? I grew up on it and just saw an interesting episode today that would delight Hawks fan.

Al and Peggy are at an all star game and the announcers says.."Let's meet the all stars......and Danny Ainge. "

And later in the episode, Peggy is shooting a ft for 10k and while the ball is in the air, Drexler is saying to himself.."if we had her instead of Ainge we would have won the championship."

I knew I always loved Married with Children. :-)

Ps Vlade Divac and Xavier McDaniel also make guest appearances.

My team needs a some  3 pts shooters to help spread the floor a litte more.
We need someone that teams will regret leaving open.
Someone, who can catch fire , NBA-Jam style flaming_basketball_poster-rae103404e00a4
We need someone shirtless.

With the next pick in the Hawksquawk dynasty draft, the Atlanta Air Force selects ... J.R Smith

3579A98200000578-0-image-m-51_1466417719  12.4 pts  -   Shot 40% on 3 pointers while taking 7.3 3pointers per game.

i'm sure Hawks fans remember this

I remember that episode. I loved Married with Children.

Ill be brief, but the H4wkfans select Trey Lyles, PF.

We feel after a so so rookie season with flashes, Trey is about to take the next big step... for those of you questioning this, please refer to Utah vs Portland this summer league (yes I know , summer league). He is the perfect fit as the first #4 of the bench.

Steph

Matthews / fournier

Aminu / barton

Favors / lyles

Turner

@Alex is up.

I was thinking about him at some point. You can always use a head case on ur team that keeps it loose (and shirtless)...

This just in...JR is still shirtless in Seattle or any town USA lol

Alex hasn't graced us with his presence yet, and hasn't been on the Squawk in almost 24 hours, but hopefully will return at some point this evening to pick. Otherwise, this baby carries over until 7:09 AM Eastern tomorrow.

I drafted Dante Exum last year...if I recall correctly...hmmm...I could be wrong but I never forget my players.

Funny you should mention that.  We are in the early stages of labor since late this morning.  I will get a pick in soon.

Are you going to name the baby Draymond if it's a boy? Perhaps Mateen?

Well baby arm is a suitable nickname for Draymond apparently..
