Ugly win but Dennis and Sap made it a win worth watching just the same. Dennis is our point guard and I'm very happy its working out better and better. He's definitely going to be ready for those playoffs. Gray Mule will love his free throw percentage tonight, 100%. I certainly did and Sap helped seal it at the line as well.

One available player didn't see the floor in this game.  Ryan Kelly.

Everyone that played had a good game with the exception of Blazeless.

I was right.  Kris Humphries can play when given the opportunity and Bud

ran out of excuses and had to use him.

And, who says, over and over, "Hit those free throws!"  Last night the Hawks

did and it was the difference.  Our final 9 points came from there, without a

single miss!  Wow!

While the Hawks were hitting those 9 free throws, our opponent went scoreless.

A combination of things.  Pressure.  Bad judgement.  Nerves.  Then, their coach

opened mouth, inserted foot.  That proved to be the winning point!  Hawks win

by that single one point.

Atlanta goes to Charlotte today.  Go Falcons !

Alright so we beat them on the road short handed so I fully expect us to lose to them at home with a full and healthy squad. Isn't that how this works?

Would be nice to break out of that pattern on the plus side with a win. Also, Gray is absolutely right about the foul line. Last night was the best example I can remember of that factor taking a game for the Hawks right now.

We need to play the rooks. I'll live with their mistakes.

One play stood out with Bembry - Hawks stole the ball, Bembry raced up court and finished betweened 2 Nuggets. If that was Baze, it would have been a turnover and if that was Kyle, well he couldn't do that.

Finding easy buckets helps this team especially when there is such a struggle to score.

We have size and athleticism on the wings - use them Bud.

Yeah, its weird that a guy who almost never gets minutes outplays our starter Baze to the point its pretty embarrassing. Well, at least both Bud and Baze should be embarrassed.

Great Xmas gift from the Hawks to us! Had a long travel day yesterday so had to watch it on dvr late last night. I'm glad we won the game because I was getting really pissed off at Dennis. He had Jokic beat like 3 different times and Jokic came out on top EVERY time. Comon Dennis! Luckily he more than redeemed himself at the end. I'll take a win however I can get it. Lol.

Yeah, Dennis is a thrill a minute, thrill a second really, but mostly its a positive feeling with his play now for me. We're not at the half way point and he is already past where I thought he'd be.

I think people thought I was exaggerating when I said Bembry might be a better player than Baze. But it's obvious to anyone who watched basketball. Baze does not have full control over his movements or decision making. He can be easily knocked off balance and forced into bad decisions. Bembry plays with total control of his tempo, balance and decisions. His learning curve is way lower than Bazes, you can see it in his movements. The only thing Baze has over him is time in the system. That's it. 

Im glad we finally saw him play and play well. He and Taurean are going to be very good NBA players, I just hope our staff invests in them sooner than later with the way we are struggling to find an identity with our new roster. Baze is a key reason our offense is so clunky , Kyle and Thabo are just specialist . Tim has all the tools but we are still waiting for them to come together.

These rooks however are ready to contribute on both ends of the floor NOW

Maybe it just became a little more obvious for Bud after last night, at least with Bembry. Hoping to see both a good bit more whether they struggle some or not. By the end of the season they should really be able to help us in the playoffs with some good minutes under their belts.

Dennis and Sap are proving to be the best players on the team. Love seeing Bembry in there doing his thing. Is Baze tradeable at this point... Dennis is tearing it up this month.

It was a good shorthanded, ugly, comeback win.  One thing.. We need to work on stopping teams in transition.  I would say that most of Denver's scoring was in transition.  If not most... a lot of it.   I think we have a main problem with just stopping the ball.   The other half of their scoring was PNP/PNR.  Maybe it's just their personnel but we could not figure out the PNP/PNR for nothing.

Baze was better off when he was an energy guy off the bench playing 12-15 minutes and nothing else was expected of him. Now he has a large contract and is expected to produce. He is simply over his head.
