But a 30th pick in the first round is basically a worthless pick. There is nothing more to feel about it than that. So Cleveland is going to be the best team in the league when their best player will be 34 years old? I don't think so!

Admin
So Cleveland is going to be the best team in the league when their best player will be 34 years old? I don't think so! MJ was 34 when the Bulls won 62 games and won the finals. Tim Duncan and the Spurs won the championship with him being 37 years old. Barring major injury Lebron will still be a superstar for at least 5 more years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bird_dirt
Bron's last season will be 2018/19 with the Cav-nots, unless he opts out the year before. 19 first round could lookgreat if he does opt out (unless it's TOO protected). Might not be that bad even if he does finish 18/19 as he'll be 33 that year, and surely he will have to slow down sooner or later, right?

Far from their best player? Pretty sure most Spurs favs would disagree with that... but even if you want to argue that then it's a good thing the Cavs have Kyrie who will still be a star then. Point is the Cavs will be a championship contender every year Lebron is still on their team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Technically, MJ was born Feb '63... won 1998 Finals in June, so actually 35 yrs old at that time. LeBron born Dec 84... in June 2019 would be 34. But that point aside... all I know is if you're getting a 1st rounder from CLE, the later you get it, the better it is... and I just can't be upset at getting a 1st rounder for our 35 yr-old under contract for just a few more months. ThomasCredle
Just curious how many future picks do we now? Seems like every trade we do is for future picks and almost never for an actual
Popular Post thecampster
I'm trying to wrap my head around people's reactions. Fact 1: There are 46 games left in the regular season now. Fact 2: Korver lost his starting role to Thabo Sefalosha. Fact 3: Korver is a free agent at season's end. So if I am understanding this correctly, we just traded 46 games of a backup 3 point specialist, for a 1st round pick in 2019 that could be anywhere from 16-30 (probably), while clearing up around 2 million in salary and creating more playing time for Bembry, Hardaway and Prince? Am I missing something? Isn't this kind of a steal? Cleveland is giving us $2 million in salary discount, a future 1st and more playing time for our rooks. This kind of looks to me like the kind of thievery you call the police over. Kyle is a nice guy and could possibly be back next year. But you gave up 46 games for quite a good bit of roster clarity.

Guest
Cavs were the only team offering a 1st round pick. You take it, yes he's going to Cavs and that sucks but you get the best for your team. What if we are using that 1st as part of a larger deal like @ThomasCredle said. Not to mention that he has Ivring and Love around him to keep the team winning. Not to mention the east looks so weak. Who is really challenging them anytime soon? chico1
According to Jurenovich, trade is not official. Cleveland has to find a third team for Dunleavy, otherwise Korver stays. Edited January 6, 2017 by chico1
