Ex-Hawks still outchea looking...

* Tiago Splitter ... probably time to get that Brazilian broadcaster career going, in earnest. Worked out with the Clippers last week. Did a Basketball Without Borders camp in the Bahamas with Coach Darvin.

* Kris Humphries ... did run-into his former parent-in-law at a social event recently. No news otherwise.

* Anthony Morrow ... backing a team currently in "The Basketball Tournament", the summer league with a multi-million cash prize to the victors. Rumored interest from Minnesota.

* Adreian Payne ... yeah. Running a basketball camp in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio.

* Jason Terry ... don't head to the broadcast booth just yet! Rumored interest from multiple teams.

* Lamar Patterson ... likely looking for a two-way deal after lighting it up for D/G-League Reno in 2016-17.

* Boris Diaw ... room in the locker for a cappucino machine is a must. Rumored interest by Toronto.

* Mike Dunleavy ... no relation to the Alaskan from Wasilla planning to run for Governor. Rumored interest by San Antonio.

Luke Babbit's name came up in this article. He has shot just over 40% from three for his career and broke 41% last year. The flaw of course is lack of defensive speed by him but that three pointer would surely help at backup SF. Someone to pass to that can actually hit from long range. He only made 1.22 million last year so cost won't be significant.

Dante Cunningham is winning the 2017 "Congratulations, You Played Yourself" Award. He was among the first NBA players to "bet on himself" by opting out of his $3.1 million contract for next season. He and 34-year-old David Lee are now the last of the 18 opted-out players without a new contract deal. Cunningham is only now fielding a call, as the Timberwolves are looking to upgrade the bench spot where Adreian Payne and Brandon Rush once resided.

Highest-salaried players from 2016-17 still looking:

* Derrick Rose: LeBron has him on speed dial. Lakers holding out hope in case a deal doesn't get done today.

* Arron Afflalo: Predictably waived by the Kangz in June. All quiet on the free agency front.

* Monta Ellis: Waived by the Pacers this month. May have to wait for preseason injuries to get a look. Muted interest by Mavs fans in trying to revive him again. 5-game anti-drug suspension doesn't help.

* Gerald Henderson: Waived by the Sixers in July. Crickets.

* Tiago Splitter: We know the deal with him already.

* Tyler Zeller: Waived by the C's this month. Victimized by his late entry into the slow market for bigs.

* Festus Ezeli: Dogged by the status of his persistent knee injuries. Maybe a training camp addition for somebody?

* Rodney Stuckey: Lakers the hottest name in the slow-speed chase for this shoot-first guard.

* Boris Diaw: Waived by the Jazz this month. See Splitter.

* Ramon Sessions: Team option declined by Bugs in June. Knicks allegedly have interest.

Five restricted free agents still hanging out there...

* Nikola Mirotic (Bulls): No real suitors. Garpax confident they can work a deal to keep him around. But Denzel Valentine and Lauri Markkanen's underwhelming Summer League may provide Nik a bit more leverage.

* Alex Len (Suns): Re-signing fellow RFA Alan Williams may have signaled the Suns are ready to move on. Could they use him in a sign-and-trade to compensate for the loss of Brandon Knight?

* Nerlens Noel (Mavs): related article: No "serious offer" from Cuban, or anyone else. But only Salah Mejri (maybe?), McBob, and Dirk under contract to play the 5-spot. Related article: http://thebiglead.com/2017/07/21/nerlens-noel-nba-centers-contracts-shooting/

* Mason Plumlee (Nuggets): No rumored interests, and neither party seems to be in a rush to lock things down. Nuggs already at 14 guaranteed deals.

* JaMychal Green (Grizzlies): Bulls and an unnamed team rumored to be interested, but it's been weeks since that was reported. Tough deal for a player who was forced to sink-or-swim in front of Z-Bo last season and shot the ball well. Grizz at 15 guaranteed contracts already.

Meh, why not one more guard?

He is overrated and it shows by the fact that he couldn't get a job anyway ... its just the fact that he played for GS last season that he got so much attention this off season from the free agent news peeps
