For a stretch there I thought he had a chance to be a decent bench player moving forward. I guess I should be grateful we still have Moose and Plumlee to hold the fort.

He was due 1.38 million if the Hawks retained him.  I guess that's too rich for their blood.

Now, they can sign all 4 draft picks and have a full roster, with no free agents being brought in.

$400K of that amount was guaranteed by next Tuesday. No sense tying up that money unnecessarily.

Rather have him than Moose. He showed more in his short time than Moose has in 5 years. The ankle injury really set him back.
