Popular Post Brotha2ThaNite
Steve Koonin: the Hawks will be insanely aggressive. “I cannot go in to too much details but I can tell you we plan to be insanely aggressive on draft night. We think this draft is deep in talent” Listening to him had me thinking they are coming away with two lottery picks. I CANNOT WAIT until Thursday! I hope you all got your draft party tickets! It sounds like we are going to have a good time! I wonder what they are thinking? Could the Denver trade happen?
Moderators AHF Posted June 15, 2018 Moderators Report Share Posted June 15, 2018 The comment about thinking the draft is deep in talent makes me a little worried about the possibility of trading down. That can work out but we cannot afford to miss on our first pick.
Premium Member Popular Post JayBirdHawk Posted June 15, 2018 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted June 15, 2018 He said the same thing about being aggressive at the trade deadline. Love me some StevieK but he's a salesman and a very good one at that.

I'm still waiting on the story to come out on why they ran off Mike Budenholzer.
thecampster
I used to say the same thing and junior high dances. "I'm going in aggressive boys. There's no way she's saying no." 2 hours later punching a locker because I couldn't pull the trigger.
NBASupes
This is literally the most inside information you will likely get till Thursday from the Hawks
thecampster
Well, in deep drafts like this, you can't wait until draft night to make swaps. I think you'll start seeing trades, jockeying starting Monday/Tuesday. Popular Post GameTime
Keep in mind Steve Koonin is the same person that said 'Bud leaving talks' were "Nothing to worry about".
GameTime
That being said I don't see Dennis and Baze on this team after Thursday night.

Dennis yes, Baze no.....Baze is less "productive" than Dennis but at a higher need position but also at a higher salary. He is only worth his salary at the 2 and to a team with a need there. Popular Post Gray Mule
RUMOR CONTROL: Wild speculation, or is it? You decide. In addition to our already many picks, Hawks are said to be considering adding pick #4 along with Chandler Parsons and pick # 14 and Kenneth Faried. The teams with pick #4 and #14 want rid of these players and their big $$$$ salaries. Hawks have loads and loads of cap space. The question is, what would we have to do to make this happen? Would we even want to? So many wild rumors. So few true facts. Ah, well. That's part of the fun of this year's draft...

TheNorthCydeRises
Hawks going to end up with the 8th, 14th, 19th, and 30th picks . . . and Koonin will laud how aggressive the Haws were in getting an extra draft pick above 19.
bleachkit
Koonin is pretty much always wrong with his predictions.

If we assume Koonin's assertion is accurate (and I'm like the others who just take him to be a hype machine now), I agree that's what it sounds like but I can't imagine any deal that leaves us with less than a top 8 pick at worst.
Moderators Popular Post AHF Posted June 16, 2018 Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted June 16, 2018 If you trade down, you put your job on the line if you mess it up. At least as far as I'm concerned.
