Rockets after Baze

I don't like it for us. They can't offer us less contract years or a good pick.

Schlenk is trying too hard to move Bazemore for little value.  With the space the Hawks now have, they don't have to move him with little value in return.  It doesn't do the Hawks any good to take on a contract that runs longer than Baze's either.

The only salary filler is Anderson and he's making a hair more than Bazemore.  Unless we are getting something worthwhile I don't get this.

If we an somehow send Plumlee along I'd take back Anderson, the Hartenstein kid they just signed (can't be traded until aug. 24th)  Melton and 2020 1st unprotected.

Per the article, Why would the Hawks not want Hill from NOP? He's making less than Anderson in the same 2 years. The NOP 1st round pick would be better than the Rockets 1st unless NOP isn't offering a 1st?

Or do they really want Anderson to fill the backup PF slot instead of a wing?

Remember when I told you guys that Kevin Huerter was going to get a lot of time whether he earns it or not?  If this deal happens, Kevin Huerter is likely the starting shooting guard for the Hawks in 2018.

If he moves Bazemore, those of you who truly believe Travis's intent is to be competitive need to wake up because this would be a clear tanking move.

I could understand us making a deal if somehow we were winning too many games, otherwise I'd rather keep Bazemore. Getting the cap space a year earlier is nice, but unless Schlenk knows who he can secure in free agency I'd rather keep Bazemore until a better deal comes along. I'd only deal Bazemore if I thought we could make play for Klay Thompson or Jimmy Butler. And that's not happening unless something else unprecedented happens.

Baze is a great fit for them.  A high character wing who doesn’t need the ball, excels at transition threes, and a plus defender who can spot cover all of GS’s guards.  Mostly Livingston though.

As Baze’s deal grows more expiring legs I don’t yearn for him to move like we all did about a year ago but his role within the Hawks’ future is diminishing fast.  Beside Viagra Vince, Prince and Bembry in their third years should be a decent foundation for our baby wings Dorsey, White, and Huerter.

If we wait a few weeks, it could be Anderson + Hartenstein + picks for Baze and that would work. Stole that from a Houston fan.  Assuming Dorsey/Bembry pans out and / or Justin Anderson getting minutes replaces Baze, then getting Hartenstein in the deal moves the needle.

Did Jay move to Houston?
