Did y'all ever get the feeling that some of the pick ups last year were Bud players?

That's why I call the Bud saga the Mike Smith era.  Everyone wanted to blame TD for the Falcon's personnel issues.. No pass rushers etc.  But we now see where the bucks stopped.  Same with last year's Hawks roster.  The Bud apologist wanted to dump it all of on Schlenk but now that all of those guys are gone along with their coach, so we all know where bucks stopped last year

No kidding. Schlenk wanted them gone, they are gone or being shopped ( Baze ). Bud wanted them here and they were here. It is that simple.

Secondly, it’s only logical that there are less GLeaguers on the roster.  When you’re into the first year of a rebuild after the teardown the majority of your youth is acquired through the draft in addition to trade and cap space, so there’s less of a need or desire to go bargain bin shopping.

Wait What?  Bud chose Isiah Taylor over Quinn Cook.  Plus Not all G leaguers are created equal.  Both Josh Magette and Alex Poythress are G-leaguers

No, they are created equal, you're splitting hairs between a dead rat and a decomposing apple in a garbage can.

Fact is when you finally have an abundance of 1st and 2nd round picks on your roster you're not fishing to fill out the majority of it with undrafted hoop dreamers.  That and contrary to the agenda, the so called "Bud's guys" are finding jobs elsewhere outside of whatever this supposed sphere of influence he has on coaches and organizations that either have zero relation to him or were hired by Ferry.

We just have to disagree on this one because some G-leaguers like Robert Covington become productive players in this league and some like Josh Magette have no shot.

Was Covington ever in the G-League proper and not on an NBA contract and simply assigned there ala Tim Hardaway Jr?

I’d put him in a different bucket from the guys who play in the GL without an NBA contract.

My Point is not to debate pure G-leaguers vs assigned G-leaguers but to point out that the even the 2 way contract players that we currently have are at the very least have the potential to be rotational players like a Dedmon during their NBA careers unlike Magette and Cavanaugh.
