nathan2331
Sounds about right. So long as everyone shows growth I think it'll be a good season for us.

Or are you saying to send them all to the GLeague to develop. (I know that's not what you are saying ). Our 2 two-way players likely won't get called up unless there are multiple injuries. I can see Huerter and Spelllman being assigned to the GL for a few spot games if they aren't in the regular rotation.

So true. Hopefully, our Hawks will be trying to win this season. What difference will it make if we win a few more games? Quiet a bit to the players and not a lot of difference in the draft, I'm thinking. I noticed that our three rookies were mentioned but no one says anything about our other "new" players that weren't here last season. Jeremy, Alex, Justin and Vince all will have opportunity to play and improve this team. Lloyd Pierce has his work cut out for him. Growing pains face our Hawks. We can't expect greatness yet but we can and do expect excitement! GO ATL HAWKS !
Gray Mule
CNN/SI has pre season power ratings. Hawks are #30. No one is, in their estimation, worse than Atlanta. Nice thing about being on the bottom, there is no where to go except up! Last season and the tank has apparently ruined our reputation as far as the writers are concerned. I can understand some of this besides the tank. Hawks have a rookie head coach. They have at least seven players this upcoming season that was not here last season. Can Lloyd Pierce and his assistant coaches blend these players together into a team? Surely our GM will not tell them not to win or not to try to win. As KB21 has said, this is wrong. The Hawks musn't do this. Are we to believe that our collection of players are incapable of becoming a team or that, as a team, they don't have enough talent to win? Just what are we missing? These players are not dumb. They are not lacking in talent. Just because we lost a lot of games last year, does this mean we can't ever be winners? Sure, we don't have all stars on our squad. 29 teams can't be 100% all stars and the Hawks have none.

Because it was their intent to bottom out last year, the deck has been stacked against the team this year. When you decide to tank, it's not just a one year thing. Because of the tank, the Hawks have no hope of even sniffing the playoffs for another 5 plus years.
Moderators macdaddy Posted September 10, 2018 Moderators Report Share Posted September 10, 2018 Whether we are awful or better than some expect depends entirely on Trae and JC becoming legit offensive threats and being able to play decent D. That's a lot to ask of guys that young but you never know. We know what we have with Baze, Prince, Dedmon, Len, and Lin. If Trae and JC don't quickly become the best players on the team then we will be pretty bad.

Got it.
