Official Game Thread: Hawks at Nets

Cam and Hunter really need more offensive polish. Those two and Bruno are offensively raw. Cam really needs to shoot MUCH MUCH MUCH better. You can't miss so many wide open shots. Bruno did well but he too needs a lot more offensive polish.

Cam, get in the gym and get your reps like Ray Allen son.

Once again.  Alex went for 23 pts -14 rebs

The center spot wasn't the issue tonight.

Center spot was fine.

SG, SF and PF was awful

Backup PG once again was awful

So I checked the boxscore at the end of 3rd. Hawks up 13, I checked back with 6 minutes plus....Hawks haven't scored 1 basket.

Horrible way to lose!

We went cold. Kevin was getting lit up on defense. Trae got going. Cam, Kevin, and Hunter just had a terrible offensive run. Especially Cam and Kevin

Hawks made 6 shots in the 4th

Trae: 5 - 11 FG

Alex:   1 - 3 FG

Cam, Hunter Huerter, Bembry, Carter:  0 - 11 FG . . . 9 of those shots were 3s

My point exactly.

Trae was sick this game, casually drops 47 points and the rest of the team went away in the fourth.

I'm still being patient because the youngins will be inconsistent.  Kevin will be better once he gets his rythm I'm sure.  It always takes him time coming back fro injuries.

Cam rookie lumps. He's been shooting better (league average) on threes lately.

I loved this Alex Len.  He was rebounding like a mad man.

Awful loss, but good effort.  Hopefully, they can get a win against the Cavs.

Everyone keeps saying this about Huerter.   At some point, he has to turn the corner.  Not saying he needs to be outstanding.  Just be competent and consistent.   One thing that really got exposed tonight, was his defense.

We need to address all of those positions via FA.....ESpecially SG, SF, and Center. Draft a backup PF with the Nets pick..Let the rooks develop behind them.

Why does Trae look like the only guy that worked on his game over the Summer? We haven't seen enough of Collins yet, But Huerter doesn't look like he's progressed much at all. He actually looks worse?

Huerter injured knee in offseason workouts, came into camp ailing and has been nicked up with some ailment all season. His knee still isn't all the way quite right.

He's had some horrible miscues though.

Not to mention every time we say he's 'back", he gets injured again. Not his fault, but it's time for him to show more.

Anyone we draft will have to develop. That said, games like today are just awful for guys like Kevin and Cam. Cam literally erased his defensive impact with his awful offensively impact.

His defense is usually not any good. He just got good defensive IQ. Tonight they had a plan in the 4th quarter, avoid Reddish, attack Kevin. Even more than attacking Trae. It was ugly. He couldn't guard no one.
