There are other options that should be cheaper and might fit even better our team as Jae Crowder, Jerami Grant, Christian Wood, Gallinari, Harkless, Bertans, Wilson Chandler, Derrick Jones Jr, KCP, Hood, Temple, Forbes, Korkmaz, McRae, Ibaka, Favors, Hernagomez, Clarkson, Dunn, Ferrell, Napier, Frank Jackson, Burke, Teague..... Just imagine we end with Crowder, Wood, Napier and KCP. Crowder is better fit in my mind that Hayward, KCP and Wood would be terrific additions.... Add that to a group of Trae, Huerter, Cam, Hunter, Collins, Capela, Dedmon, Skal, and 6th pick. That is a good team. There are lot of options out there This sounds like 1 am at the club. 1

I was just about to post this as a possible option of why Boston most likely asked to delay the opt in/out after the new league year, to avoid the hard cap issue with the TPE using it on a player like those you mentioned.

Not a "hefty" 4-5 year deal price. Will he average 50 games or less a season the rest of his career? We can't offer a 5 year deal, so there's that at least 1

neanderballer
Hollinger's Free Agent value had Hayward's value at ~$17M for next season.

Premium Member Popular Post Jody23 Posted November 18, 2020 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted November 18, 2020 Something doesn't smell right. There is NO incentive for the Hawks or Hayward to work a sign and trade if he truly wants to come to Atlanta. I'm skeptical that this is another use of the Hawks as leverage.

A trade compensation draft pick unless Boston wants Dedmon which will help them for a three way trade to land them a big they actually want. Slightly greater annual raises Neither of those make too much sense, which is why Hayward is almost certainly heading to a team not in Georgia.
