Scale wise, it's not on the level of the previously listed, but the emotional impact around the world is much wider. Kobe is trending #1 worldwide and #1 in just about every country. just terrible. Just going through the stages of the emotions with disbelief, anger, confusion, sadness and everything else. It’s a difficult world to survive.

Buzzard
I got a pop up notification on my phone. My 1st thought was its a hoax. Then I saw it was coming from NBA.COM. Horrible tragedy and I feel for his family. Only 41 and so much life to look forward to. My sincere thoughts go out to his family and close friends. Just read his daughter as well. So tragic; nothing else I can say. Edited January 26, 2020 by Buzzard

benhillboy
This the same dude who walked off with a torn Achilles looking like “I’ll be back in a couple games.” Played with fractures and sprains all in his hands and feet. He seemed indestructible, it still hasn’t sunk in. I shed a couple tears over Prince but I was bawling this afternoon. 1
Moderators Popular Post PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted January 27, 2020 Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted January 27, 2020 My heart breaks for the NBA community and the Bryant family. Absolutely terrible news and couldn’t believe it at first. I thought it had to be a hoax. He was a wonderful man, father, leader, and athlete; he did so much for the game. Both of them were far too young to go and Gianna was an angel full of life. I remember watching the Brooklyn game that she was at and seeing her meet her favorite player was great to see. RIP - Kobe and Gianna. The entire NBA family - coaches, players, and fans alike are all devastated by the news and will miss you dearly.

Popular Post bleachkit
People forget, Kobe was one of the greatest dunkers of all time. When he was young he could absolutely fly. Also, one of the greatest tough shot hitters of all time. Shot better when he had a hand in his face.
Premium Member Popular Post Sothron Posted January 27, 2020 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted January 27, 2020 I was not a Kobe fan but his mark on the game is undeniable. What really impressed me was how good of a father he was and how he turned his Mamba attitude to all the off the court things in his life once he retired. He was a legend. It still hasn't really sunk in yet that he is gone. Memory eternal.
Popular Post Marvin24Williams
This hit me hard.. big time. He was a huge part of my childhood in terms of growing up as a basketball fan. It really just reminds you how fragile life can be. Treasure the ones you love and don't take every single day for granted. Stay safe everyone. RIP Kobe Bean Bryant
NBASupes
I am feeling it now. With the kid in the bed, I am just hurt man. This was my favorite player from 2000-2012. I watched so many Laker games. Even watched 81 live. 4

Watched 81 live as well as his struggles as a rookie to his duo dominance with Shaq and leadership in the later years with Gasol and Lamar. It’s just tough to believe. I’ll wake up tomorrow thinking this was all a dream.. RIP #8 #24 Edited January 27, 2020 by Spud2nique
Thomas
The Grammys opened with a tribute to Kobe last night. Heartfelt. The first performer of the night, Lizzo, kicked off the evening by declaring, “Tonight is for Kobe.” https://www.vox.com/culture/2020/1/26/21082727/kobe-bryant-death-grammys-tribute

Moderators Popular Post AHF Posted January 27, 2020 Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted January 27, 2020 RIP. Too many people just lost their lives way too young. Incredibly sad. I wasn’t a fan of Kobe but respected his will and his success. With his mind, I’ve been waiting for him to step into a management position - likely after his kids are older. He’ll never get to watch those games now. He left an indelible impression on the league and will be badly missed.
