Marvin24Williams
Locked up our center position for the foreseeable future. Now it's all about getting some shooting via free agency or through another possible trade

Popular Post RedDawg#8
I like Bruno and his potential to stretch the floor but at this current time he is not a floor spacer at the 4. He needs to put in some work on his jumper in the offseason. If he and Dedmon are both on the floor together then he can play the 4 on defense but the 5 on offense and let Dedmon be the stretch big on offense. I love that Dedmon can give us both offense and defense at the 5

Don't believe that is the case anymore once Clint is ready. No minutes available at C for him. Bruno has looked pretty good lately when he does get some PF minutes.
Dnice
I wonder what number capela would wear with 15 taken and ded would probably return to 14.

We aren't blowing our wad of capspace in one go. 4

Some players can perform regardless of systems and personnel. Others, however, only shine in the right system. I believe Atlanta (even under Bud) did a great job of maximizing the players they had and building value through the right "fit." That has been one of the challenges this season is that when we had Collins out and Huerter so quickly...our system broke down immediately. Rookies don't know a system yet. I certainly am much more optimistic about the 5 now!!! Can't believe we have Capela and Ded...truly didn't see it coming.
Popular Post High5
I'll be honest, I think I rather have Len as the backup. But hopefully Dedmon can return to form and doesn't mind playing behind Capela. If he can do that then we will have turned our weakest position into a strength. Schlenk isn't messing around. It's funny that by not signing Dedmon he managed to get Dedmon + 2 2nds. 6

Popular Post Lurker
Good trade here as well. Hopefully Dedmon can find the form he had in Atlanta and at the very worst, you have more 2nd's to play with. For now Schlenk has calmed me down, but there's still much more to this story that needs telling in the offseason and to be done. I actually don't really think Harrell fits anymore, but the next move needs to be the bench.

benhillboy
I wasn’t too excited about the Capela move but combined with Ded I’m with this sh!t. Ded’s offensive synergy with Trae was great last season but he also was pretty good at assisting Trae defensively with communication, hedging, good fouls, etc. I wouldn’t even look at his numbers while stuck in purgatory this season. I fully expect him to pick, pop, roll, grab contested boards, block a few shots, make a few calls, and clown around with Vince just as he did last year. Moderators Popular Post AHF Posted February 6, 2020 Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted February 6, 2020 I’m much less excited about this move - although granted that I was over the moon with the Capela trade. Dedmon is fine but he has been terrible this year. We are definitely betting on a full bounce back but he has been so bad I view risk in that. Sacramento had no real leverage and wanted to shed his salary. Dump trade for them. Parker and Len for two 2nd round picks isn’t great shakes. I view Ded as an upgrade on Len at double the cost which says TS really didn’t want Parker back. On the plus side, Dedmon was a near model of professionalism here so don’t have big worries about him being upset at coming off the bench. He also compliments Cap quite nicely as a big with a jumper and a FT stroke who can defend. The screens our centers set and the boards they grab just upgraded big time between these moves.
Thomas
Am guessing Dedmon will be with us to battle in Boston on Friday. Should be ever so little acclimation for him. Same coach, starting backcourt and starting power forward. Very ready to watch that one.
