Premium Member Diesel Posted November 2, 2020 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 2, 2020 Does Having Huerter stop us for going after Joe Harris? Heard that we would go after Harris but he's a more expensive version of Herter. My real question is... Can we say at this point that Huerter is good enough for us to pass up on proven talent? Premium Member Jdawgflow Posted November 2, 2020 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 2, 2020 I would say no, Huerter should not keep us from signing a better player with similar skills. We need all the talent we can get. Depth is so important for the inevitable injuries, poor play, and COVID.
TRW
Having both would be an oxymoron but this is a real important season for Kevin. I think Harris is better right now but he is older than Kevin. So no to your question.
gurpilo
I think you never have enough shooters, Joe Harris can play SF.

I don't think that's the right question. Current roster - Starters TBD PG - Young/Goodwin (non-guaranteed) SG - Huerter/Reddish SF - Hunter PF - Collins/Fernando C - Capela/Dedmon 9 players total incoming - 1st pick 6th overall, heat's 2nd pick (likely stash player or traded). 11 players total RFA - Skal, Jones, Bembry, Brown FA - Teague, Carter only Skal and Teague are likely back. So at most out of this lot we have 13 players that will be rostered...maybe as few as 9. Let that sink in. If Goodwin is not retained, Skal not resigned and Jeff leaves...we could be bringing back as few as 8 + 1 draft pick. that's between 2 and 6 roster slots with between $40 and $50 million to spend (depending how it shakes out). Huerter doesn't stop us from going after anyone. Trae doesn't stop us from going after anyone. We need to fill 2 to 6 slots at an average of $20 million or as little as $9 million per player to spend. We can sign/trade for pretty much anyone. Gray Mule
Unless something terrible happens, Skal will still be a Hawk when the season opens.
