The issue is the year after. They would be the world's biggest LT team and would end up having to give up assets to get rid of Bogi or Hield. It's in their best interest to simply not pay him or get expirings and a young player that's two to three years from the end of his rookie deal How about Snell and OKC pick?

But I'm assuming the offer sheet hasn't been signed yet because they know kings will match.

Having an owner who's willing to do that changes how we can spend on FA and building a roster in general. 5

'Cause he sucks? Seriously though, he's a guy thats always had role-acceptance issues. Hard pass, imho Eta. Hes probably too expensive now since he's due to be paid soon, but I'd love for us to snag monte Morris since den has signed his replacement basically. The Kings won't have any functional cap space if BB leaves for free. Snell gives them a bench shooter and keeps them above the cap to use the MLE. Premium Member mrhonline Posted November 21, 2020 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 21, 2020 I'm hoping the Hawks will sign Danilo to a declining contract. This is what I see so far: 2020-21 2021-22 2022-23 Danilo Gallinari $21.53 $20.50 $19.48 Clint Capela $16.00 $17.10 $18.21 Tony Snell $12.18 De'Andre Hunter $7.42 $7.78 $9.84 Trae Young $6.57 $8.33 Okyeka Okongwu $5.81* $6.10 $6.40 Cam Reddish $4.46 $4.67 $5.95 John Collins $4.14 Kevin Huerter $2.76 $4.25 Brandon Goodwin $1.70 Bruno Fernando $1.52 $1.78 TOTAL $84.09 $70.52 $59.87 *Okongwu will get 120% of this # once the cap space is spent.

thecampster
The Hawks only have a few trade chips left related to salary. Snell, Huerter, Fernando mostly. Technically, they could move some salary and take back a big one and then fill out the roster with vet contracts but IMHO it would be better to use that 26 million to sign 2 players then fill out with vet minimums and move snell at the trade deadline if things are going well. 1

Premium Member mrhonline Posted November 21, 2020 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 21, 2020 George Hill to the Thunder...I think he might be get-able. I wonder if they'd trade him in a salary dump for Goodwin? I really have NO idea what OKC's current cap situation is.

I'm thinking if we move Snell for a much bigger contract, we would be giving the sending team an exception. A team like GS who is about to have an $80 million LT bill could use that. That could be used to fill up the last bit of space...then use our exception to bring back Skal and/or Teague.
