He is great team player, big basketball IQ, great locker room guy, but a three-point shooting was never his forte.

I've been watching him my whole life and he is a good scorer, but not a three-point shooter. So, we don't get a shooter but a complete player who will be a great complement to Trae.

37% on 7.2 attempts. So using your logic is Trae not a shooter?

What the ...?

Could no one tell me about the errors in this post?  Geez, I said the aging "Ibaka", not Obama.  And that was point #2, not 3?!

Was i asleep or high?  Both? 🤔

LOL. I was so confused by the Obama part that I figured it was an inside joke.

I saw it but didn't want to draw too much attention.  I just figured it was some 2021 stuff we wouldn't understand anyway.

@thecampster how does the Base Year Compensation rule work in regards to a Bogi SnT?

Hawks are under the cap....it doesn't matter. It would be processed 1st or 2nd when submitted to the NBA accounting office and since we'd be under the cap there is no matching which means there is no BYC.

"

The BYC rules apply to a player who meets the following criteria in a sign-and-trade:

  • He is a Bird or Early Bird free agent.
  • His new salary is worth more than the minimum.
  • He receives a raise greater than 20%.
  • His team is at or above the cap immediately after the signing."

So it would affect a team like the Pacers in a Bogi SnT?

How many full games of Galloway, Tyler Johnson or GR3 have you guys watched? Not trying to be snarky, just wondering if you guys are suggesting those names because you recognize them from the free agent list and think "he had a good game against the hawks 2 years ago" or if you really think they're a good alternative to Bogdan.

As far as Galloway goes, not much last year.  But GR3, I watched him in College, liked him a lot there.  Watched him as a rookie and they started moving him.   Watched him a little last year with GS.   Didn't get to see him much in the trainwreck called Philly.

With training camp just around the corner, you would think there's a sense of urgency on both sides.

My take -

The Kings want Huerter.

They know that the Knicks have nothing close to that value to give.

They're searching for deals with capped teams.

They're hoping the Hawks don't have any better options and will get impatient.

The Hawks would never trade them Huerter.

In my opinion the Hawks have two options

1. Sign him to a contract and see if Sacramento matches

2. Trade OKC 2021 1st for J.J. Redick

These two are the best options on the board.

So there is absolutely no reason for the Hawks to offer much more than OKC 2022 1st and the TPE.

Why is it so hard just to take a TPE if you are Sacramento

New GM trying to save face after the initial screw up. For teams over the cap, Bogi's contract is capped at ~$13 million (if I understand the BYC at least to the Bucks/Indy).
