Are NBA players allowed to take a pay cut? Sometimes NFL players will do that.

They can agree to buyouts of their contracts. Aldridge gave back $7.25 mil in his buyout.

I would file a grievance if I were Horford.  Some BS for his career.  The only explanation is “we want to lose games” because he is under contract to them for two more years so you can’t even argue it is about developing talent for next year with a straight face when you didn’t choose to trade him.

If he wants to sit because of the plantar fasciitis then I suppose it is all good for everyone.
